Leicester City youth striker Ashley Chambers was on target for the England under 17 side in their 2-0 victory over Belgium on Tuesday night. The 16-year-old forward banged in the second for the Three Lions with 55 minutes on the clock to seal the win for head coach John Peacock's side. City defender Joe Mattock was also in action on the night - playing the full 90 minutes of the game. The fixture was part of the UEFA Under-17 Friendly Mini Tournament, which has been taking place in Belgium over the last week. England finished a respectable second in the group, with one win, one draw and one defeat to their name. Mattock completed all three games for his country, while Chambers started against Portugal and Belgium after coming off the bench in the opener against Spain. Both players will now return from the training camp and will be in contention for Saturday's Academy match against the MK Dons at the Belvoir Drive training ground in Leicester.

We seem to have a very good youth squad!! And as Joe Mattock was ever present in the England team we have the best under 17 left-back in the country. Nils-Eric Johansson best watch his back!

Not just yet I don't think. Although he's included young players such as Weso and Stearman in his squad continuously, he's shown a reluctance to play other youth players. When we had a goal scoring crisis Louis Dodds could've come in and I have no doubt he would've done a good job. I think Rob likes his younger players to go out on loan to gain experience before taking the plunge with them so to speak. I have no doubt the loan system is working though, Logan went to Boston last year and look at him now, same (although a much smaller scale) with Chris O'Grady to Rushden and Diamonds. So let's hope the same positives can be taken from Alan Sheehan's loan to Manfield and Louis Dodds to Northwich Victoria.

Yeah the loaning is not a bad idea, i think his timing seems to be a bit off with it though! Loaning a scoring striker when we have injuries and noe one scoring! But thank god Hume is on the ball now!!

Chambers isnt a bad player. If he keeps improving, he could be a real asset!
