Kelly eyes Tiatto stay Monday Apr 24 2006 14:20 Leicester City boss Rob Kelly is keen to retain the services of veteran skipper Danny Tiatto beyond the end of this season. The former Australia international has been struck down by various injury problems this season, but Kelly recognises that his vast experience is of major use to the younger squad members at the Walkers Stadium and wants him to extend his stay when his current deal expires. Kelly said: "I would want him to stay if possible because we are losing Joey Gudjonsson for certain and, if you look around the squad, there are a lot of young players who will need help from some older heads. "I've had a couple of meetings with the board and there will be more this week. Nothing has been set in stone and I just want to see where we can go." Source

He is rubbish, but his experiance might be useful. We dont want to lose too much of this team at the same time!

I can see why to be honest. He isn't the greatest player in the world we all know but he really isn't bad back up for the first team. Plus he is one of the few experienced players in the squad. We won't have any money to spend in the summer what with no parachute payments so the least we can do really is keep our current squad together - because it isn't that big! You know what you get with Tiatto and when he first came I thought he was pretty good - I just think it is better than taking a gamble on an unknown considering he will probably be only back up. And he does give us some width, and I like width!!

In addition if the worst came to the worst Tiatto could play left back (god knows we need some cover in that position).

And he does give us some width, and I like width!! To be fair to him he was pretty good last season so hopefully he'll recapture that form. What worries me though is that twice when he's come back from injury he's walked into the first team; firstly v Leeds and secondly against Coventry
