Found this on Beeb 606, and thought it warranted a posting, 'cause it's a good article!
Sums the administrators up nicely, really As Derek (our resident Happy Hatter) said on another thread, the word is they're earning £280+ an hour. Fucking parasites
(Side note; do Reading fans really hate Luton? I always thought there was more of a mutual indifference between the clubs!)
Reading fan in peace.
I posted this last week but it's no wonder that the manager walked, it ends up on his CV if the club get relegated.
I don't know whether you're all aware but the first responsibility of an administrator or liquidator (who act in similar ways) is to ensure they get paid. There's a very good chance that the players were sold purely to cover the administrator's 'future' or forcasted fees. Who are your administrators? You need to get these destructive, money grabbing accountants out of your club's boredroom ASAP, perhaps ensuring they don't remain anonymous will help speed that process. Trust me they're only interested in covering their fees and will stay there as long as they can dripping the club dry.
When I saw your result last week and the potential 4th round draw, I thought this had fairytail written all over it. I thought there was a certain inevitability about it all, that it was Luton's destiny to play out the perfect football fairytail.
Luton would enjoy an FA Cup run, something the FA Cup would desperately welcome too, galvanise the nation along the way and get to pay off all their debts through performances on the field. They'd have been making movies about it. But instead your administrative manangement decided this was the perfect moment to sell off all your best players.
There's a lot I don't understand about your situation but what I find most perplexing is this sell off and all for a collective fee of 1M or so.
Maybe the fact that the club needs to be able to compete week in week out in the league and to do so you need to field a team (preferably of eleven players) was lost on these accountants, but compounding the idiocy of this decision is the fact that you also happen to be in the middle of a cup run, which could've brought in more much needed revenue.
Surely your 50% share of the 40,000+ gate at Anfield along with TV rights for that game will be worth between 4-500K in itself.
Keeping your quality players would've given you a shot at the impossible - a win at Anfield, which in turn (having seen the draw) would've offered you the closest thing to a ticket to the 5th round and another 500K+ as a club can get.
It seems that your management is accepting relegation halfway through a season when the team is only just in the relegation zone and that due to a 10pt deduction NOT as a result of the players' performances. It all seems insane as the loss of revenue playing league 2 instead of league 1 must also be massive.
As a Reading fan I truly hate Luton, but I LOVE to hate you, I have no doubt the feeling is mutual and that is why I will have everything crossed for you lot. I wish you the best for this season and hope you quickly get some management in there that know what they're doing.
Good Luck.
