send in the SAS
its got to be done......theres rioting outside the British embassy in Tehran.....thats tantamount to High Treason, punishable by death in the UK, thats far worse than what our sailors have done (and it wont be proved that theyve done anything wrong)

SAS. In, rescue, bitchslap, out. Job done.
Can't go for all-out war, but there's no way Iran are gonna just sit there and play fair. They've got a point to prove; the SAS could prove one of our own.

There's been a lot of miletary movement around Mildenhall and Lakenheath (Suffolk, near me) lately, with aircraft and stuff. Whether it was routine or we're going to war with Iran, I don't know

Politics student here I doubt America would get too involved with this one, plus I doubt the UN would back any kind of military actuion, i.e bombing the crap out of them; plus, seeing as Iran are still creating nuclear weapons.. well it'd just be a good excuse to 'test' them.

Thatcher would've had 'em home by now. ....and then she would have crushed their unions, destroyed their pensions and finally screw them with a poll tax...

As much as I can't stand Dubya, I think a lot of the time he's given a lot of unfair press; yes he is a little slow sometimes but he didn't get the Presidency through no work of his own. (Yes the Supreme Court had a hand in that) I don't think it is, simply because Iran are too big an 'opponent', they won't play by the rules and we'll end up losing a hell of a lot more than they will.
