Well, where to begin?!?!
Left my house at about 3:55 and was at Northotl around 10-15 minutes later.
Just as i was approaching Northolt station, i saw a train pull up and thought "DAMN" i am going to miss it and have to wait in the cold freezing my Ballacks off!!
Three minutes later and the train had nicely waited for me and as soon as i entered... the doors shut and on we went.... A sign for later to come?
Got to the ground at around 4:30 and it was like a Ghosttown, myself, Joe, Vickie and Paul the only people there.
Got two tickets for Phil for Q block on Monday and then went and purchased an away shirt because i am a cheapskate and it was only a tenner :-).
Met up with Mike and Fiona and we proceeded on a BLOODY LONG walk to Weatherspoooons.
Was having a nice meal after waiting for 10 minutes for a table, and was then given a very pleasant surprise when Stedders showed up sporting a delightful pink shirt!!
Had a very nice meal and Stedders and I were ripping each other the whole way through it hehe.
We were walking up the Uxbridge Road and i FINALLY managed to find out the middle name of somebody who shall remain annonymous... see... i told ya i wouldn't tell anyone!!!
Anywya, Joe, Paul, Vix, Fiona, Mike's Mum(who we had met at Sheps Bush station) turned right and made their way to the ground.
As soon as they were gone, Chris Day walked past us.
What an absolute LEGEND that bloke is, he spoke to Mike, Stedders and I for the whole 10-15 walk on the way to the Pub!! What makes me think of him now as a top man is the fact that he speaks to us on the same level, there is none of this "I'm a prof. footie player, why are you talking to me" BS, the guy is just so down to earth and we spoke about everything, from QPR, to Milwall, to Lampard beign a prat, and to having Bottles of Coke thrown at him when we played Brentford!!
Got to the Connie and as always had a huge laugh with the PSPA, but must say i was VERY dissapointed with Pete Ranger for not wearing his pink shirt hehe.
Met Jack, qprmadboy off here, absolute Ledge he is!!
Anyyyyyyywayyyyyy, we left the pub and went to the ground, Stedders and I still ripping each other, how did it finish Stedders? 3-3?!
Got into the ground and went straight up into my seat having had a quick chat with the Bikers and going toilet.
We had a huge let off early on, Nugent missing in the first minute, what a sitter that was!!
Apart from that, Preston looked VERY poor IMO, no way are they good enough for the play offs based on today.
We started to play better as half wore on and Nygaard really should have scored after Ainsworth's effort was deflected into his path.
Then, after a bit of MAGIC from Lee Cook, he fed a fantastic ball through to Ainsworth who really should have done better, cutting the ball back straight to a Preston player.
Half time came and it seemed quite a dull match to be honest.
Went and had a chinwag with some of the people off the MB at half time and then went up for the second half.
What made me laugh when i got home was the PNE site praising their "vocal away support"!
Errr... NAH!!
Didn't hear them all game at all, though to be fair to them it is a very long journey from Preston and people will have been working.
JG had to make double change at half time, Cook and Mancienne both went off injured and Ricketts and Kanyuka came on, both did excellently!!
Now for the best bit: Our goal!!
Nygaard recieved the ball down the left channel and played a fantastic, inch perfect pass for blackstock who brilliantly controlled it on his chest and smashed a shot which flew straight into the top corner. Using Iceman's words it "flew in like an arrow was magical".
An amazing goal, truly world class, yet the Ref booked him for second game in row, all he did was celebrate... i just do not understand that rule!!
I was getting more and more nervous by the minute and after about 65 minutes, my bladder had to be emptied!!
Walked into the normally full toilets, completely empty this time except for Rrrscrazy, who like me was BLOODY nervous!!
I was going insane, muttering to myself every time PNE got near our goal. "Get it out Rangers, deal with it". Must have seemed a right nutcase to the people around me hehe ;-)
Dashed back into V block and proceeded to age about 50 years in the space of half an hour!!
Ref and Lino both did not spot a blatant handball in the area from Blackstock, and you started to feel it was our night!!
JG brought on Smith for Ricketts and Jimmy did well, would have created a 2nd for Dexter but for a great save from their keeper.
FINALLY, the final whistle went, i have never seen V block go so mad!!
I fell over a row of seats because i was going ApeSchit and done my calf muscle lol.
You could see what it meant to the players, who had been great all day, really geeing the fans up throughout the game!!
I was SO IMMENSLY PROUD of all the QPR players and fans, all giving it 110%, made me so proud to be a Ranger, this was a night i will remember for a LONG TIME!!
I finally got out of Loftus Road about 5-10 minutes after final whistle, still chanting, still going mad!!
Eventually limped back to the car and was home 25 minutes later, before speaking to Spooooony on 606!!
