From some crap rumours website - www.football-rumours.com/Reading have given up on Greg Halford after Colchester held the club to ransom for a player who is free in the summer. Reading have now turned their attention to Michael Dubbery of Stoke City, who is again free in the summer and is expected to sign for the Royals on Tuesday for £450,000. Mark Little is also expected to sign for Reading for £1. 2m but will be loaned back to Wolves for the remainder of the season. This could well be out by the time this is printed, but Cork City's Alan Bennett will sign for Reading tomorrow (Tuesday after the clubs finally agreed a fee for the 25 year old centre back.

From the last day transfer deadline timeline thingy on the beeb - 1046: Feel the heat! Well, kind of. Stoke skipper Michael Duberry is in talks with Reading. Got to be short term cover for Sonks and as long as he does not play like BK last night I dont care.

From SS - 11.08 am Stoke have confirmed that Michael Duberry is in talks with Reading. The 31-year-old central defender has a clause in his contract which allows him to talk to any Premiership club that makes an offer of a certain amount. Now Reading have activated that clause by making an undisclosed offer. Duberry is now in talks with The Royals about a move to Berkshire and is expected to complete his move later on Wednesday. Seemingly anticipating Duberry's possible departure, Stoke signed Gabriel Zakuani from Fulham on Tuesday. Well its either him or BK / Sodje whilst Sonks is out. He cant be any worse surely and is captain of Plymouth?

He may be old but we do need backup and he has Prem experience. As I said Sodje and BK are not up to scratch yet.
