Combination:
1) Good manager 2) Good players 3) Fairly wealthy chairman
Good combination if you ask me!

We have only had a few short-term injuries and been able to keep a winning side together. Every single player is playing for the team. As the unbeaten run continues, the confidence just gets higher and higher. So much so that last night, at times, I felt we were too careless in defence and were lucky not to be punished on a couple of occasions. But that is seriously nit-picking. Basically - we are just superb - and I am loving it

Luck has gone there way, but they have also got a good manager who instills confidence, and where that fails the chairman puts in money.

Madejski has supported the Club but within limits and he has certainly not bank-rolled it. We still have to run a tight ship like anybody else. There are clubs in this Division that have spent more money than Reading. Luton played well last night and deserved to win. We had to lose some time. We will still deservedly win this league

A top team is just that - a team, not a collection of individuals but a force working together. That is why football clubs have high profile managers, you can have the best individual players in the world, but if they aren't all on the same wavelength games will not be won. Steve Coppell deserves a lot of credit for what he has achieved and I'm sure his carrer will be a long and succesful one.
