Clint Hill was keen to join Crystal Palace after admitting he had gone 'stale' at Stoke City. The defender has moved to Selhurst Park on a two-month loan deal and is expected to sign a permanent arrangement in January. He had spent over four years at Stoke, but had seen his time at the Britannia Stadium beset by injury troubles. Though Hill acknowledges it was tough to leave The Potters, he is looking forward to a new start with Palace. Wrench to leave Hill told the Croydon Advertiser: "I'm 29, and I'd been at Stoke five years. So maybe the time was right to start a new challenge. "I'd gone a bit stale - maybe I'd stayed a year too long. So I was keen to join Palace, and get my form and fitness back. "It was a wrench to leave, because there are some great people at the club. I enjoyed my time there, and the fans were kind to me - even though I didn't play that many games because of my injury problems. Hopefully the fans here will be just as good to me. "I'm still not fully match fit yet. My debut against Cardiff was my first game for six weeks, so there's still a little way to go before I'm completely up to speed." -------------------------------------- i reckon he's just shit, not stale
