KING LATEST Sat 19 Jan 2008
WATFORD Football Club can today (Saturday) confirm that the proposed transfer of Marlon King to Fulham remains ongoing.
The Hornets' management are currently awaiting further instructions from the Craven Cottage club as to the progress of the transfer, after King was allowed to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms following agreement on a £5m fee.
^ Thats the clubs official statement.
Apparently Fulhams club doctor asked for a second opinion on his knee having looked at his medical records, especially surrounding last seasons injury. Marlon will now see a knee specialist on monday, for the second opinion, then based on the outcome Fulham may sanction the transfer as agreed, re-negotiate or call it off.
Basically we probably won't get the full £5 mill straightaway cos he's got a propa dodgy knee innit.

AIDY BOOTHROYD remains hopeful that Marlon King's £5m move to Fulham will go through as planned. The Hornets striker had been expected to complete his switch to Craven Cottage yesterday (Friday), but there are fears the deal could be scuppered after the 11-goal forward reportedly failed a medical. However, like the club, Boothroyd described the transfer as "ongoing" and following this afternoon's 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic said: "I don't want to sound like a politician but we've agreed a fee, the player wanted to go, I said OK, away you go, the deal was agreed and as far as I know it's still going to get agreed, but I think we're in a bit of a grey area at the minute and I think the one person who probably wants it resolved more than anyone else is Marlon King. advertisement "He's been a great servant for us and I only help for everybody's sake that the deal goes through and we can carry on as were going to do before and that's the situation with him." Asked if he knew whether King had failed a medical, the Watford boss responded: "I honestly don't know, we're just waiting to hear. Obviously both clubs had a game today and I'm sure we'll pick it up in the next few hours, who knows, but hopefully it will be resolved. But it was the right thing to do, the right decision." Boothroyd also confirmed that Collins John will join the Hornets on loan, irrespective of whether King's move in the opposite direction is completed or not. www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/localsport/display.var.1979161.0.aidy_still_hopeful_over_king_move.php
