To coin a phrase, "Money talks" Gunter wasn't going anywhere either...

From BBC January 13th
Watford manager Aidy Boothroyd has insisted that striker Marlon King will not be sold. The Hornets rejected a £4m bid from Premier League strugglers Fulham for King, who produced a subdued peformance in Watford's 1-0 defeat at Preston.
Boothroyd said: "We don't need to sell - especially to a club who we might be changing places with.
"I want him to stay so he stays. That's it. I don't need any money so there is no fee for Marlon."
King missed most of last season through injury and was badly missed by Boothroyd's side as they were relegated from the Premier League.
The 27-year-old has scored 11 goals this term and with Watford attempting to get back into the top flight, Boothroyd has no intentuon of letting him leave.
Boothroyd added: "In order for a player to move I've got to want him to go, the player has got to want to leave, the money has got to be right and there has got to be a replacement.
"None of those four criteria are being met."

Getting £5million plus Collins John on loan, is a good deal for Watford. I see Fulham are paying over the odds prices for championship players again, they are clearly going down, but will do well in the championship next season with their squad of championship players

I thought from what Boothy said he was worth more to Watofrd - not in terms of money, but in terms of how he plays in that team, and the support he gets from the fans.

A disgrace. King will score goals .We need promotion & instead we have a mercenary useless turd arriving in the form of John who turned us down last season. Too good for us the scumbag. Useless for Leicester no wonder they kept him on. The board are a disgrace. Boothroyd ought to hang his head in shame. Fulham are scum.Their chairman is scum. Chris Bailey is scum .It is he who is responsible for getting Bouazza to leave . Good riddance. I hope the scum get relegated as we go up so we can laugh in their faces. Simpson out. Where has the money gone ? Kiss promotion goodbye at this rate. Pathetic spineless board. Hodgson scumbag. Pray they lose every game from now on in.

To summarise Billy we are going nowhere fast. Okay considering where we were a few seasons ago we should be grateful. But Fulham ? Really angered. Young was one thing Bouazza another but King too? To cap it all just seen Parkes on loan at Brentford for a month. Right now I'd get him over the worst player ever to set foot on the Vicarage Road turf JS match unfit Parkes would be twice the player. Great bit of business bythe board. O'Toole signs new contract until 2011. Woopy doo ! Empty promises by the board again. No need to sell. All bullshit & lies. The question which Stalin Simpson the Ossete of Vicarage Road & Ashton Beria refuse to answer is where is the money going ? Meanwhile Eisenstein Boothroyd dances the puppets tune. No left back no central midfielder or left winger but a useless mercenary turd. Despair......... I give up.

Just read more. Good riddance to the mercenary car thief.
If he wants to go he can. What a wanker. Kissing the badge at the Millenium all the bullshit.
Year out looked after royally. Offered in excess of 25k a week the greedy wanker. Another mercenary.
Football.... soulless ..... grubby.... sordid. Deserves the same abuse as Connolly if he comes back. Definitely not a Phillips or Page.

Was it not Aidy Boothroyd who said that they would only sell him for £60m in the summer, when Derby were linked with him.

In my opinion, 5 mil for a Championship striker is great money, however it is always gutting when your best player leaves your club (Happened at QPR twice in two seasons with Shittu and Cookie).

It all feels so shallow, but a good aggressive rant always made me feel better

King - I think £5mill is good money for him to be honest, I personally don't think he'll make the step up to being a successful Premier League striker. But then, my experience of him is largely from his Florist days, when he was a big disappointment really.
Collins John - didn't spend too long at Leicester, and didn't play too much as he got injured. He scored 2 early on in his time here but overall, I felt he was quite lazy. He didn't look particularly hungry when he was playing and I'm not disappointed that he's leaving us. Plus, whilst he didn't do much, he missed a couple of guilt edge chances which my cat could have scored, aka Wolves away!

5 million to Fulham - GB will not be happy! Well I'm not exactly over the moon Billy - but thats football! King has been shit recently so that lessens the blow a little ;D £4.5 million profit on Marlon is good business though, and we got the best from him if you look at all the clubs he's been with. This move culminates some dark goings on within the club - I will always be behind the team (the board not so much) but we do appear to be sinking. Welcome Collins to the club and hope he shows that C*nt King that he has made the right decision and King the wrong one in going the other way. After he rejected us last season - he isn't starting on the good side of the fans, he just has to get out there and prove that he's a goalscorer, if he bangs 20 in this season, displays passion and gives 100% every game then maybe I will think about forgiving him for turning us down last Jan! The King is dead, long live the Duke!
