Not really POG. Its quite a flattering scoreline a smash & grab raid. We lost Demerit early which disrupted the defence. We dominated from 10-30 minutes & had two chances off the line & KIng wasted a glorious chance to pull back to an unmarked Smith. Then Stewart what a surprise, gifted an oppurtunity to Phillips & Lee instead of tipping over a speculative effort from Morrison allowed it to come off the underside of the bar. Albrechtsen was left completely unmarked for a fre headr six yards out which knocked the fight out of us. WBA are not great we pulled them this way & that before the first goal. But that happens in this league. Same at Leicester. We mwasted two simple chances before Leicester took charge after a goal out of a million from Hume. Mind you we have not been greatat home.We were lucky against Southampton to get a win & Blackpool too. We are good away from home because teams dont play behind the ball & we can get down & around them more easily & hitting a long ball does not mean we lose the ball as often. Which leads me to my points I stated at the start of the season. Stewart & Mahon are weaknesses. Francis is coming back soon though. But we need creativity & the ability to play a controlled passing game at home to opne up space at home games against sides who are just willing to sit. Lee is not good enough too small. Plus Demerit is out for a month which exposes our weakness in defensive cover. Jackson is useless so we need to sign a loanee from the Premiership ie Rigott perhaps ? However when we lost heavily last time we won five straight. We'll se how we react against Norwich. To be honest WBA are not that great & Wolves are still the most inventive side along with Ipswich at home I have seen . Kudos to Paul Robinson. He will always be a Watford boy & his ambition must surely be to return back home if we get promotion . It was a freak result to be honest like you stated, i reckon the top teams will beat each other throughout the season, it was surprising though as WBA's away record has been dismal this year, no doubt you'll get back on track to be honest i was hoping WBA would win only because it was looking like you would run away with the top spot, i still think you'll finish top as you have a 20+ in Marlon King and our striker is warming up the bench . All the best anyway, hows the new job going?

The jobs going great ... except the hours one has to put in are longer plus you get grief from the senior manager from time to time. How I'd love to talk back & tell him what I think. ;D Been off this week.Acute bronchitis & influenza in one. Lovely. Just about recovering . I reckon we'll just have to turn over the Baggies at the Hawthorns. As I said we have not been playing great & we are still top. Apparently Ian Joyce our new American keeper has all the makings of a Brad Friedel so hope there. Lee & Poom are error prone & you need a solid defence in this league. We definitely need cover come January or even now. Of our defenders I rate only Demerit, Shittu,Doyley & Parkes has tremendous promise so we are very thin at the back.

Very sweet of you to say CG.
I hope you Canaries stay up as its a very friendly & family oriented club like us & I'm sure Roeder will get the job done.
Coming back to us as KH says I don't think with AB there will be any room for complacency.
We should have buried the Us even without the penalty miss but what was promising was in that the last two games against Norwich & Colchester we have been able to exert considerable pressure for long periods while using good passing movements.
Unfortunately on Saturday Hendo missed two simple chances which I doubt Priskin for all his faults in terms of workrate would not have.
Good news for the rest of the Championship I guess as most are fearing we will run away with it.
Charlton are looking good & I reckon Wolves will contest it too & if Ipswich can sort their away form they will be in the mix up plus they will have cash to spare in January.

A pitiful defeat to a bunch of mediocrities. Dominated the first half with the losers barely able to get out of their own half. Missed four great chances. Cue first shot on goal = goal.Second shot on goal = goal. Dreadful. Shittu gets two. Start of the second half we dominate again for the first ten minutes then go to sleep. They miss an open goal to be fair but then Lee is barged into & loses the ball a la Steve Sherwood.Everyone is expecting a free kick but the cretin in back awards the goal. Twice in the last few minutes clear cut penalties are not awarded. Even the Barnsley fans can be heard counting their lucky stars. Everyone knows its a penalty as King rolls of Souza twice & is hauled down. Guess what. Yellow card for King. I normally dont get on referees backs but this blind C*nt has cost us at least a draw against a team who'll be lucky to finish midtable. No surprise to see the players surround him at the end of the game something which hardly ever happens at Watford. Lucky I was not one of the players or I might have regretted aiming a kick at the pillock right where it hurts most. Bloody furious.

Fully deserved win for the Clarets last night. Absolutely shocking from the Hornets. Burnley were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty as well. Aside from Smudger & King the rest were useless & clueless. Henderson needs half a dozen chances to score as is known by Reading fans. Kabba is a waste of space & WBA have done us over Ellington. Lazy indolent wanker. O'Toole is replaced which is encouraging for him after his great displays for the Ireland u21s whilst Mahon who is past hsi best is kept. Technical players are not being used ie Rinaldi & Priskin & we are being found out to an extent because Johnson our main outlet has left. AB appears to be another prototypical English manager. Why play Kabba on the left instead of a natural winger like Ainsworth ? And why take twenty five minutes to make changes after halftime ? Changes needed to be made at half time in formation & personell just to shake things up at the very least. At this rate if this sort of home form continues we'll just about manage a playoff spot. Truly rubbish.

More rubbish again. Boothroyd a good manager ? Betty Boothroyd could do a better job. Its the same old rubbish again. Full back gets ball hoofs it up to Henderson or King & lets hope something happens. Hs he ever told Shittu his job is to defend rather than keep wandering up the pitch ? As for the midfield still no Rinaldi. Good enough to play well against Lampard & Essien & excellent dead ball taker.Nowhere to be seen. Instead we have the same pathetic hit & hope free kicks. Midfield non existent. Smith & McAnuff hardly get decent balls or King into feet. Two sacks of shit could a better job than Williamson & Mahon. When will Boothroyd get it into his head to play Rinaldi,Francis & O'Toole ahead of this garbage ? I was wondering on Tuesday where O'Toole was & yet he was introduced only with ten minutes to go started creating some passing play & scored the goal with his box to box style. As for Henderson hes out of form yet gets picked ahead of Ellington who to be fair cannot get match fit of sharp. As for King he wasted several good chances & seems to be in a world of his own not passing to teamates in better positions . Poom & Lee do not inspire confidence would that we had Foster back. Bristol City were a side who had not scored in four games were thrashed 6-0 by Ipswich who knw how to pass the ball. They created a few chances but despite the awful effort put in yesterday they did not deserve a win. Thats four points from fifteen & one from twelve home games. We should have thumped Colchester & Barnsley & dominated WBA for half an hour but Boothroyd had better make changes . As I have mentioned before I think he is being found out as a one dimensional manager. The midfield is crucial so please bring in Rinaldi & Francis or O'Toole & Bangura who has been left out in the cold instead of persisting with these two statues who are better suited to playing in division four. They are not division two players & it is costing us games. The forwards are getting terrible service &teams are used to countering the one dimensional attack whilst the defence get pressured from them losing balls & wasting posession. Get your finger out AB you useless git. I'm extremely angry & disappointed with the performances. It just isn't good enough.

I'm surprise myself at how badly Watford have done since we came down there, I think we severely dented your confidence and at the same time inspired confidence in every team that has to go to the vicarage.
Watford need to 'pull-up' quick before they crash and burn

I'm not sure about the confidence factor Albion4life. We really battered Barnsley in the first half & Colchester the whole game but the finishing was terrible. However if you have not got a midfield you canthope to do anything. I dont know why Boothroyd persists with Mahon for a start or Williamson. I wish he would wake up & see the examples set by teams like Ipswich , the Baggies & Wolves in using passing football. His promises to introduce a mix of styles seems to be getting very hollow. This wont be the first time we've screwed up like this.1989-1990 we were flying clear of the rest of the division Paul Wilkinson leading the goal charts with Crystal Palace in second when we imploded & barely scraped into sixth. Perhaps idiots like Stewart could watch this video & get some basic tips on free kick technique. www.youtube.com/watch?v=There are seven games in December & we need to getat least fifteen points from those to be in a good position come the Janaury transfer window when hopefully we can get rid of Kabba for example & bring in some decent players esp.one defender & midfielder & a decent loan keeper.

Unless Sheff Utd and Charlton pick up some form during and after Xmas, it looks like the three W clubs will fight for the automatics, if we can spend a bit of cash throughout our team and start to score more goals we can really push for the automatic places, i think both WBA and Watford fear us, due to us not having a great squad on paper and the fact we can keep a clean sheet everyweek ;D

Decent performance upfront against the Us.Could have scored six or seven as in the return fixture. However there is no accuracy with passing in the midfield .Where is Rinaldi ? In Rio ? McAnuff needs a rocket as does Stewart. H emight have hit the crossbar but the rest of his free kicks were terrible. The defence is shambolic aside from Demerit & Doyley until the last two weeks. Come January we need a left winger & a couple of decent defenders in on loan & if we can get Rinaldi on the pitch perhaps with Pudil if he has not been taken by Hannover. Pull your fingers out chaps. Still not good enough. If we do get promoted it will be relegation for certain again with this type of football.

Only two now. A terrible advert for Championship football. How the hell Priskin is supposed to play when the ball is lumped up to him is beyond me though he does not help himself with his lazy attitude. Looks like we have signed two prize turkeys in McAnuff & Ellington, overpaid, too good for the shirt ,cant be bothered a**eholes. Well done AB another cockup in the transfer market. MOTM was Lee followed by Demerit.Midfield is non existent still. Perhaps Williamson ought to watch how to take free kicks corner videos too. Hes not Championship material. How the hell Rinaldi & Bangura are behind him still is a mystery. At least it was a clean sheet against a side in a decent run of form so a point is well worth it I guess. But still no sign of decent football at the Vic. Shame Ashley Young cant help us out again.

Yep you have my sympathies CG. AB has not implemented the school of science at the Vic yet. And Pulis is even worse. As for the penalty I did not see it ... only kidding it was a definite penalty. Swings & roundabouts we had a couple of shockers too so must not complain too much. Bad luck for the Potters but a draw was a fair result just about.

Watford take on the Pilgrims. A fixture spiced up by memories of 1984. Paul Sturrock will be looking to maintain the form kept up by Judas Holloway who shamelessly is keen on taking Norris & Hayles away from Home Park. The Pilgrims will miss suspended Paul Connolly & Lilian Nalis but have Nic Chadwick fit again with Jermaine Easter likely to replace Hayles. Lee Martin whom I rate is still injured but Dan Gosling another little star is available. Watford should have Shittu back .Henderson is suspended so Priskin continues to partner King upfront. Ridiculous lazy journalism has linked him with Derby & Fulham. Watfords home form is terrible so it should be a very tight game. Rinaldi is still in exile in the Brazilian gulag apparently for the crime of playing proper football.
