Marlon King's international future has been plunged into doubt after the Jamaican federation meted out a two-year ban on the Watford striker.
The sanction follows a lengthy investigation by the Jamaican Football Federation into an incident during the tour of England last summer.
King was expelled from the tour prior to the friendly with England on 3rd June for disciplinary reasons and the federation has taken a dim view of his actions.
A four-person committee examined the case last week and concluded a two-year ban was the correct punishment.
"They looked at the case and the decision taken by the management committee in England was upheld," general secretary of the JFF Burchell Gibson told The Jamaica Observer.
"The committee also further imposed a two-year suspension on Mr King from all national duty and representation of all football staged by Jamaica or any of the Jamaican teams effective the 31st of May 2006, so that will expire on the 30th of May 2008."
Gibson added that King, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, has the right to appeal.
"If he does not appeal, or if he appeals and is not successful, then he would not be eligible to represent any Jamaican team or participate in any Jamaica-sanctioned game until May (30th) 2008," stated Gibson.
