Aidy's latest email to fans, where instead of that Ali vs Krankie comparisions, this time it's some good old fashioned hope. Hi Everyone, This weekend we have got a game coming up against the biggest club in the world and we need support – your support. One of the dying things in our game, due to the money that’s come into it, is that the little clubs can’t outdo the big clubs in many ways. At the end of the season we’ll look back at the Premiership, look back at the season, and we’ll say: ‘What have we done well? What have we been excellent at and what have we not done very well?’ Well, one thing I can say right now is that YOU have been absolutely superb. You are that twelfth man, you have kept us going, and you do mean so much to the players. You can’t do anything on your own. I’m not a one man band, and neither is the team, so we need you and we need you to come to the game, dressed in all yellow and make more noise than ever before - much more than at Cardiff! There are tickets left, so get your money out and come and have a great day. After all, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to get your team to the new Wembley. If you were thinking about not coming, make sure you get yourself together, get some friends and come to the game, because we need you - we really, really need you. It’s important for you to know that we’re not going there just to make up the numbers, we will be professional, we will be prepared and we’ll have a game plan to contain and exploit what we think is a terrific United team. There haven’t been many upsets this year in the FA Cup, the game on the whole hasn’t had that many upsets, the likes of Hereford beating Newcastle or Palace overturning Liverpool, but they do happen and it’s a great chance for us to make history. Wouldn’t it be good to say ‘I was there’? We’re proven already that we can compete with the big guns, we got to 94 minutes with Chelsea and we could have scored to win the match, so we know that on our day, and if they have an off day, we can do it. It’s a one-off game, and in a one-off game anything can happen. This is our moment. Come On!

Hi everyone,
I’m sure that there are lots of people with their heads down after Saturday’s result, which finally condemned us back to Championship football.
But, you know, it would be easy to feel sorry for ourselves, or think that we’ve been mistreated by luck and by everything else, instead let’s get things in perspective.
I’m very proud of what’s been achieved at this club, in a very short space of time.
I’m very proud, and humbled, by the response the players and I got leaving that pitch on Saturday.
I don’t think you’d get many clubs in the country where you would get that – fans chanting like you did. But I know that people understand and appreciate the hard work that’s gone in to the efforts on the pitch this year.
I appreciate, and I know the players definitely do, the hard work that’s also needed to support this club.
In three games time we will be back in the Championship, but with a far stronger squad and a far more experienced and battle-hardened manager.
I’ve had two seasons at this club - one in the Championship, an ultra-successful year, a fairy story. The second year was to experience the best and the pinnacle of world football every single week, playing international-class teams, and that has been a great education for all of us.
We’ll make sure we use what we’ve learned in the future and although getting out of the Championship won’t be easy – many clubs have tried and not done it – we’ve got to make sure that we’re one of those clubs that do.
Obviously there’ll be a little bit of stick that flies around the workplaces of Hertfordshire and north of London this week, but I firmly believe that it’s a good time to be a Watford fan.
All of us should take a moment to realise that the season has been good for us. It’s not been a bad thing, it’s been a good thing, something that we will grow from and be stronger for in the future.
Come On!

Hi everyone,
Saturday’s defeat at Sheffield United again showed me how small the margin can be between winning and losing in this division.
I was really disappointed with the manner of the goal that we conceded, but what I did see were a team that for the great majority of the game bossed it, and this wasn’t the team that have years of experience together, and with the manager that has had 20 or so years in the game.
As always there were plenty of positives to take from the match, not least Marlon getting closer and closer to the threat we all know he is. He’s on a long, long road after his injury, but that first goal is getting nearer, and only the width of the crossbar stopped him from scoring on Saturday.
Clarke Carlisle’s suspension is a shame for us, and more so for Clarke, but that will allow me further opportunity to explore the scope of my squad and some of the players who may not have had their opportunity until now.
I think we saw from Lee Williamson at the weekend, that once you have had time to settle at this club, and once you get your chance, it is important to take it. He did, and for my money Lee was our man-of-the-match at Bramall Lane.
I’ve also taken this chance to rest Jay DeMerit. Jay is an important part of our team and has played in more games this season than any of our other players.
Over the summer he’ll be playing numerous games for his national side, and because of that I felt it important for him to have a break and a holiday, because when he returns he’ll have to hit the ground running with the rest of us.
Make no mistake we want to make a fast start next season, so fast that our preparation has already begun.
With that, this weekend is another important game for me and the players involved. Reading are a great marker for a club who are at our stage of development, so going up against them will be another test and another great experience.
Come On!
