Wolves fans have ended the grumbling and delivered another show of loyalty in the club's Earlybird season ticket scheme.
Molineux staff will spend the weekend processing the final applications but are confident that they will hit the 12,000 target figure once more.
"Their commitment is what makes this club special," says Chief Executive Jez Moxey. "And we are not only lucky to have such great support but grateful too."
The demand will also give manager Glenn Hoddle a lift in a season which has so far come up short of his expectations and provoked much grumbling from fans.
But with Wolves enjoying one of their best performances last week to revive hopes of a genuine play-offs challenge, there is renewed optimism that the campaign may yet deliver the coveted prize of promotion.
A key figure in the mini-revival has undoubtedly been on-loan Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere – and his impact is hailed today by team-mate Rohan Ricketts.
Ricketts, who knows Aliadiere better than any other member of the Wolves squad having come through the same Arsenal youth set-up, believes there's plenty more to come from the 22-year-old.
"He has made a big impact since he arrived and I still think there's more to come from him," said Ricketts.
"He's so quick and a good finisher, and his movement is outstanding which causes teams a lot of problems.
"He's not played games consistently for a year or so now so you can see how he's been getting fitter and better in training."
