Glenn Hoddle has thrown down the gauntlet to Reading ahead of tomorrow's trip to the Championship's runaway leaders, insisting: "We're coming to take you on."
Wolves will head to the Madejski Stadium as massive underdogs against a team beaten only once at home this season and on the brink of promotion.
But having slipped out of the top six in midweek, Hoddle insists Wolves will be going all out to become the first side since Plymouth on the opening day of the season to win at Reading.
"We know we have got a tough game ahead of us," said Hoddle. "Playing away from home at Reading will be difficult because everyone whose been there this season, apart from Plymouth, hasn't come away with much."
"We are going to have to play well, but we will go there very positive. I'm not going to go there to try and hang on to their tails, we'll go there to try and cause them as many problems as we can and see how they deal with it."
"I don't think there's been many teams that have gone there and really taken them on, but we'll need to take them on because of the position we find ourselves in."
Hoddle reckons the trip to the league leaders will also give him a pointer to how his players will handle the growing pressure in the race for the play-offs.
And he is also fascinated by how the Royals will handle the pressure of clinching promotion and the championship title.
"We'll find out if we can cope with the pressure," said Hoddle.
"I think we've got players who can deal with that, so let's hope it's a problem we have."
"But I would say we would have to play better than we did at home to Reading and Sheffield Utd, which were both big games."
"Certainly Reading on Saturday will give me a bit of a guider as to who can deal with that extra bit of pressure."
"It's a big game for us, but it's also a big game for them because in any sport the hardest thing is to get over the finishing line."
