UNITED 0, BRADFORD CITY 1 (Compton 31) United were starting to apply pressure and Nunez fired into the side netting on 27 minutes from a tight angle and more good play by Leeds.
But it was Bradford who went in front on 31 minutes. Mark Stewart did well down the left and pulled back for Jack Compton to convert from close range.
The goal rocked the Elland Road crowd and United had to re-group as the game headed towards the interval. In the final moment of the half Nunez had a shot deflected wide, but no corner was awarded.

Finally a win, at times we were very lacking, then we showed some grit, and the last 10 mins we showed some hunger...good game from Clayton....We are missing our forwards Becchio & Somma...due respect to Bradford they played the game well and deserve the best for the rest of the season.....

Good game by Clayton yes again; against a Lg 2 side which is what hes used to after last season and after the weekend i need to be convinced before i warm to him. we definately missed LB and DS......and also RS and MG all in all we did well i thought. how many other sides yesterday played without 4 of their top 5 goal scorers/creators of last year? were only 2 games in im still confident, so should everyone else.

im not , we will concede far to many goals again, this problem has not been solved and cant be for peanuts !!! Too right LFS, no good asking monkeys to do gorilla's work . It does seem that ER isn't the happiest place at the moment, what with the utterly selfish ungrateful bastards who refused to come to Leeds where they would earn half as much as clubs like ipswich and Bristol City were prepared to pay. Then there are the utterly selfish ungrateful bastard fans who simply don't understand that everyting Mr. Bates has done for this club has been in our interest. He is giving us, in what could be his final years, all his time, energy and expertise. Surely a few seasons of humiliation and heartbreak, not to mention pain, is a small price to pay for his sacrifice escalating bank balance.
