Frustrating first half....we need a quick equaliser to get back into the game...The penalty was a bit harsh, this ref will do us no favours..Signs are there that we can cope with Derby..Come on Leeds

Lucas, good to be able to talk to you on here, see you post on waccoe & can't reply cos i'm stuck in BS Alright mate, increase your post count that's the trick Lets have a better second half, not that the first half was too bad, if some of those very dubious looking offside decisions had been given our way we'd be running away. Danny Mills just reminded me we hit the bar twice too. Need better organisation on in the defence and more protection given to them by the midfield.

it's pretty obvious that the defenders haven't played much with each other but they should improve over time.
With all the problems we have up front I'm surprised we haven't tried to get another forward in - just on loan for a few months would do.
We also need to get Howson on the ball more and get him making forward runs - Derby did that to us too often yesterday.

"We hit the bar, had clearances off the line and caused them problems though the result was disappointing. We will just move on to the next game. " SG
With the current squad we have available. We will struggle, the back four as a unit is to slow, midfield can be elegant but it needs to be able to breakdown counter attacks. it needs to be harder. Attack will always struggle with a Lone striker not getting any support. We lost on the openning day for the first time in 21 years, this season will be a long and hard one. Forget back to back promotion, we need a season at this level to bring some quality players into the squad. We are missing Kisnorbo lets hope its not late for us by the time he is match fit and back in his regular postion...... Derby only won 3 games away last season, they needed an away win badly, lets hope we can get some points on board very soon. Whilst we were sloppy, the team kept fighting to the end, it was great to Schmeichel show desire, we have a gem of Keeper in that one....We are no longer the big boys in the league, but we are the team everybody wants to beat and out sing...

New defenders but playing the same as last year . We lose the ball in midfield and then get ripped to shreds .Derby could have had a hatfull , only Schmichael kept us in it . We could have done with keeping Doyle and getting Bailey from Charlton , at least we would have had a couple of fighters in midfield . We seemed to hoof the ball upfield rather alot as well and if we are going to do that then we don't need playmakers in midfield who are too slow to get the ball back when they lose it .

Bloody shite that was. I seriously think that even I am a better defender than Bassone. Midfield was non existant which meant Derby had the run of it - what the hell was Howson doing for their first goal! Only decent thing he did all game was the pass to Becchio for our goal. Don't really know how it came across on the TV but the referee was utter garbage, seemed to give every decision to Derby- however I've since seen the penalty incident (I was in the South stand so didn't see it properly) and agree that it was a penalty, Sam was too late on the challenge.
Only ray of light in the game was how awesome Kasper was! His double save was in front of the South stand and I pretty much nearly had a heart attack.
Speaking of the South stand, I doubt I'll be in there again. I haven't been in there since the Wigan cup game (Gary Kelly's amazing goal!) and when the Kop sold out (we left it too late to get tickets in there) I suggested to BB that we should go in there because I remember the atmosphere being quite good. Oh wow, I think we were surrounded by the most annoying people ever!
