...outfits. Fashion designer Stella McCartney has been appointed as creative director for Team GB for London 2012. She will oversee the design of both athlete kit and fan wear for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. "As a British fashion designer it is an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," she said. Cyclist Victoria Pendleton added: "I'm a massive Stella fan. With London being host it's really important as the host nation to set the standards." McCartney, 38, is one of the world's most high-profile fashion designers and has previously worked in sportswear by designing dresses worn by players at this year's Wimbledon tennis championship. The announcement of her involvement comes a month after Oscar-winning film director Danny Boyle was unveiled as the creative director of the Games' opening ceremony. Boyle's film Slumdog Millionaire won eight Academy Awards in 2008. Fellow film director Stephen Daldry, who has been Oscar-nominated three times, is also part of the creative team which has been given the job of organising the opening ceremony for the Games which start in London on 27 July 2012. It has also been confirmed that there will be a special Panini stickers album produced for the Games, featuring past and present Olympians.
