Gunners chairman Peter Hill-Wood described Gallas's demands for a new contract as "quite extravagant". "I don't think we are prepared to go along with it. We would very much like him to stay but I think for one year - and not on the money he wants," added Hill-Wood. "He is a good player but you have got to draw the line somewhere.
"If he can get the money somewhere else, good luck to him. We still hope he will sign but if he doesn't, he doesn't."

Ignoring that, well done Arsenal for not caving in. We need more clubs to tell the players to get off. Not that they will.

I don't think anyone will be crying over losing either Gallas or Campbell for that matter, it would be nice to keep them but I hear Wenger has his eyes on some defensive talent..... so we'll see.
