Come on Neil - you know everything. Any truth?

There is some truth in it, however a lot has gone on behind closed doors. Mariner was at sturrocks house for an evening while over here promoting the world cup farce. New England have given permission for him to talk to argyle and he has been offered a "director of football" post. Whether this will mean a coaching/assistant role or somethingelse was unclear until the removal of summerfield. Now it would appear he will be taking the assistants job. This will probably mean he is managing while PS stays in post, if only in face until his contract expires and he moves upstairs. I have a suspicion he will not be doing a lot of the managerial duties and this saves a bit of face while actually replacing him. Of course the appt is yet to be announced but it could be a good move, as long as the club do actually let him run the show and make sturrock sit back.

Its official now. Lets hope for the best but it seems a very strange one to me... It does look remarkably similar to the stunt pulled by the Newcastle board last season - get in Alan Shearer to soften the fans up a bit before the inevitable relegation. I suspect that Neil is correct - Paul Sturrock will be manager (at least in name) for about another month, then Mariner will be in charge. I also don't think that PS will go to an 'upstairs' job now, I think that he'll go. His 'special relationship' with Mrs Seips Dad can't be all that easy just now for one thing...

Have you seen the article in the herald about Seip on saturday, slamming sturrock. I cant see how the board are failing to see that he has lost respect all over the place.

In the Daily Mirror he has said that he didn't celebrate the goal as he would have liked out of respect for the travelling fans. At the end of the day Seip was the only one with the guts to say it as it was at the time - brave man!

As stated on the Football league show: "I will never play for that man again".

Hey, it was 'that man' not 'that team'. There is still hope.

True - it is one positive spin. I suppose at the same time we have to remember that we are lamenting the loss of a player who had two arrests, refused to play on the bench and has been pretty poor all season... ...but yes, I'd give him another chance right now

Thing is with Seip - when he was having a good day it was a "good" day on the other hand if he was having a bad day - it was consistently shocking for 90mins! Ok so he was a pain the rear end off the pitch but we need all that we can get at this moment in time I reckon Mariner will be manager by the end of the year - there is something in Sturrocks contract thats keeping him at the club and Mariner has come a hell of a long way back just to be head coach....
