Any TES:M modders on here? Decided to have a go today, but am running into difficulties - figured before I go into detail, I'd find out if anyone's actually gonna understand my ramblings

I do! I once heard a friend mention that game you said up there. But that friend was a compete idiot, so I am making automatic assumptions.

Would you say Reorder, TESTool or Wrye was an inherently better load order tool? Lots of people seem to have varying opinions, so I'd be interested to hear yours

Definitely TESTool. I prefer TESTool with a little touch-up by self-made progs, as some of my mods tend to be too big to clean in TESAME. TESTool is faster, and safe in the same time. Enchanted Editor can help sometimes as well.

I call bullshit, Max ;D www.mwmythicmods.com/Archives/Mods/TESTools%20or%20TESAME.htm (post #5) Of course, if you'd read the question, I was talking about load order, not cleaning...

Unfortunately, I got a rather nasty one of those in-game, thus my save is now borked... Edit: Or not! ;D
