We'll see if it goes anywhere... As for why we want to keep hold of him - maybe the fact that we depend on our youth development to keep getting results on the pitch and, later in their careers, the bank balance ticking over? John Hartson, Matthew Upson, Matthew Taylor, Curtis Davies, Leon Barnett, just to name a handful? I seriously doubt you guys are willing to offer £1m+ if you're approaching illegally

Your right we probably aren't going to drop £1m+ on a 16 year old, I mean seriously have you seen our transfer markets as of late.... slim to none !!! ;D

That's pretty ignorant as far as being a football fan goes. It's not about holding him back, it's about doing what's right for the player and the club, not to mention adhering to the rules. That's what I hate about PL clubs, they always think it's fine to illegally sign young players from lower league clubs. Good for Luton for reporting them. What is it with Le Arse this year anyway? Going for a record nuber of FA charges in a season?

Who you callin' ignorant Leeds Girl. ;D I think anyone who believes that being linked with a NonLeague Club will better their career is a bit loonie. As I tried to make clear earlier "IF" he's that great of a player he needs to be in a proper training program....I mean Jeesh even a League Two Club would be a step in the right direction, no offense intended Neko.

Supporting Leeds makes me ignorant? Good one You've completely missed my point; it's not about whether he'd be best off at Manure or Drogheda, it's that Le Arse are (allegedly) making an illegal approach for him. Just because Luton are a smaller club than the French p**** run happy campers, it doesn't mean they can just pick and chose whoever they want without going through the correct channels.

I didn't say you were ignorant for "supporting Leeds", what would make you think that Agreed proper channels must be taken, I guess all we really have to go on is the word of the people involved. Everything else is just speculation at this point. It's a funny thing about Football though isn't it, everyone likes to point the finger at the BIG CLUBS; however, when they come calling with cash in hand all of that "doing what's right for the player and the club" goes right out the window. ;D

In which case you'd have been wrong Well yeh, lets face it, it's never about what's best for the player, it's about whoever offers the most money. Should've just offered what Luton were asking for eh

There are times when I wonder if Wenger is really Scottish in an elaborate French disguise. ;D

I think anyone who believes that being linked with a NonLeague Club will better their career is a bit loonie. Never mind Luton's proven history of developing youngsters to a high level, and the fact that he's likely to get regular first-team action as opposed to rotting in the reserves, eh? The fact that we're non-league (not by merit, remember) doesn't mean our youth program is any worse; the system's been in place for a long time and works. He might get more money at a higher level, but at so young an age there's no guarantee his development will be any better.
