How far away is the train station in Plymouth from the ground? I can't remember the last time I walked to HP from the station, but it's well less than a mile. I'm driving that way today so I'll measure it.

Exeter has four actually. St. Davids, St. Thomas, Central, St. James Park.
Plymouth has Plymouth, Devonport, Dockyard, Keyham, St. Budeaux Ferry Road and St. Budeaux Victoria Road...
From Plymouth station its just down the hill and up the other side, about twenty minutes walk or five on the bus.

Good train spotting Damien. Doing the Argyle proud there. It takes us about two hours to walk from the railway station to the ground but that does include an hour and a bit in the pub and a sizeable pasty.

Tickets are on sale now, so I'll be getting mine soon. Do you get the train from Exeter Pastie? If so, which station is better? (Forgive me for asking about a month in advance, October's a busy month and I like to plan ahead... )

(Forgive me for asking about a month in advance, October's a busy month and I like to plan ahead... ) St Davids - if it stops anywhere else it will stop all over the place on its way to Plymouth. Ideally you can get some that only stop once or twice and do the journey in less than an hour. If you haven't done it before you are in for one of the most spectacular train journeys in the country, possibly one of the most impressive in the world. My advice is to sit on the left of the train and you get to see all of the Exe Estuary, the coastline from Dawlish Warren to Teignmouth and the whole of the Teign Estuary in the first 20 minutes. Wear a lifejacket as the waves occasionally hit the trains and bring a blindfold for when you pass through Newton Abbot
