Settle in and relax. Peterborough got a point and we've arrived at last.

Result! I was all disappointed that our efforts hadn't merited relegation material...

Well I'm glad it wasn't us that gave you a point. We've already given Posh and Barnsley theirs!!!!

Thanks for your generosity Mrs H...
So, I play five a side on Tuesdays with a bunch of Blokes, most of whom are Exeter City fans but good ones who don't kick me too hard. One of them has "a connection" with somebody who knows somebody blah blah blah. However, by chance that indirect connection appeared in Exeter for lunch today apparently in a state of dire gloom. The story was that Sturrock was utterly confident of signing Craig Cathcart yesterday and none of them saw a move to Newcastle coming. I'm not sure that Cathcart would have solved our problems, but more of a concern was the description of a training session this morning that was thick with a bad vibe, conducted in silence by disheartened players and coaches alike.
Maybe Neil can offer his usual inside insights?

There is a general feeling of unrest inside HP at the moment and it is not healthy. There have been a few situattions recently that I know about (from very reliable sources) where players have been quite open about their own feelings and the general mood amongst the squad. All reports I have had indicate that sturrock has completely lost the dressing room. Players are fed up with the tactics and being played out of position, there has been very little effort to gel the team and get the new boys playing and fitting in with the older ones. Players are bewildered by what the manager expects of them and they are getting no direction. There are now 6 Players who I know for a fact have been saying the same things, if this is the case then something needs to be done now.

I had a feeling you'd say that. Curious as to the identities of the 6...

Now you don't hear this very often and I hate to admit this publicly but for once I have to agree with Neil (sorry hun!!) The way I see it is this... its stupid to keep saying that we haven't got the players, that they are crap etc etc... they are not poor they are just not being given the chance to show people what they can do, I get the impression they are bored and have no clear leadership/management from the top. If you don't have this you get disheartened staff who think why should we bother - yes I know I know - they should for the fans etc.. but you can sort of see their point of view. Sturrock is not a well man and even though he was fantastic for the team all those seasons ago he's just not got it anymore, poor leadership = poor team - you don't need to be a rocket-scientist to work that one out!! There was a time when we would go 1-0 down and they fought back and put some effort in, obviously not anymore, the heads have gone down and who can blame them really - what is there to fight for??? People are saying ooooo give him another chance - how many more chances can he be given... what people are forgetting is that we only stayed up thanks to Reading last season and not on our own merits, it started then and now the season is starting worse than it ended.... not convinced we will get better at the moment. Its not going to happen overnight I know but you have to get the team's confidence in themselves back up and there is no-one adequate enough at the top to achieve this. Makes you wonder if there is something in Sturrock's contract thats keeping him there, I can't see the Japanese investors being overly happy the way its going and they may as well forget this crap about a 50,000 seater stadium or whatever it is they want, what the hell is the point when you won't be even able to fill one tier of it soon. Watch the attendances plummet as well..

It is true in Old Sturrock days if we were one nil down at half time I was confident of a win, two down certain of a draw. These days a draw feels like a positive result.
