Just because he thinks that doesn't mean the board will agree.

Well they seem to be sticking by him .... even after the shocker and narrow miss we had last season

At this point, how else can it be though? What sort of club do we want to be, turfing people out four games into the season before at least the latest attempt to sort us out has bedded in? I agree it has been dire, but I would expect Sturrock to say nothing else, for the board to do nothing else whilst getting inevitably twitchy, and I agree it is better that the supporters get on his back than the players. If he is thick skinned and has a plan that works then good luck to him. Nothing is settled now and it is too early to change; however I think that if we settle into a routine like last year he has until the end of November. Then somebody else can come in and try to compete against clubs willing to gamble their existence just for a whiff of success...

The problem is the players are not happy either, I have heard numerous reports of people chatting to players over the last few weeks and a lot of them have been quite outright about the fact they dont know what sturrock is doing and that other players feel the same way. If this is the case and he is losing the changing room to, then we need to act.

I see what Dan is saying, that with these players brought in, a new manager would probably ship them all back out again, and with the window closing in less than a week i suppose we'll have to keep him till November. I vote Alan Curbishley
