Definite feelings of deja vu. No spark, no inspiration, no game plan, nothing to feel good about at all. The ball was in the air so much we may as well be playing Quidditch. I am rapidly leaning towards the "Luggy out" side of the fence. At least if Luggy moves too another club, he might come back for McLean. Wouldn't that be a disaster. Its going to be a long hard season. Think I might book a room at Dignitas.

Its tempering hope with reality isn't it? What the value of that QPR squad must have been compared to ours must be a frightening difference. In lots of ways we have to be happy to be competing. At the same time, you turn up at a game with all the naive expectations of a football fan and it isn't much fun being rubbish. Rubbish may be a little harsh. We were solid enough at the back but in no way good enough to expect to withstand everything thrown at us. The midfield looked better with Fletcher and without Duguid although I was disturbed by how often Fletcher gave the ball away. Up front is the real dull area. Fallon defended well but was otherwise awful. The unexpected treat of seeing Maclean again this season served to remind that there is no obvious reason for him to be on a football field and Mackie did well with the occasional glimpses that he had. I agree with Sturrock on the OS. Last season we would have lost that 2-0. Yesterday I couldn't see a goal coming from anywhere. I found his substitutions baffling, not just who went off in the second half but Duguid on when you're chasing the game? Yet we get a goal, so one nil to Sturrock over me. A long hard season begins...

We all knew this season would continue to be a battle. I find it so frustrating that Sturrock is continuing with his hoof it up to Fallon strategy, and that other teams can see us as no threat whatsoever. I watched the Reading Newcastle game on saturday and I have to say it worried me. Either of those teams would have wiped the floor with us, Reading are making a brave move this season with a young side but my god are they up for it? I just think of the team we had a couple of years ago and the football we were playing then and look at us now, it is like going back down a few divisions. I have lost my faith in Sturrock and I think at least with our new board/chairman if he does end up getting the boot, Sir Rory may be the man to get us a decent name in charge

That was a hugely UNDESERVED point for PAFC.
Was it not for the keeper it would have been an absolute rout.
Plymouth looked very, very poor and I'm sorry to say this (As I have mates in Cornwall who are PAFC) but I reckon they will struggle big time.
Out of interest, what did you guys make of QPR?

I thought QPR looked competent but unspectacular if I'm honest. I didn't think we were worth a point either on Saturday but more through our own frailties. If that sounds churlish, in comparison I thought that Cardiff tonight were frightening...
