Can honestly say the identity surprised me!

I don't think he is the real stig. He was only on the show to race his own ferrari around the track and he just dressed up as the stig - the time he got beat the lap record by 7 seconds.
Also the way Clarkson reacted and Shumachers body language itself just suggests it was a mockery.

Thats exactly what a thought, a con. The real stig is yet to be revealed and probably never will be.

Could be a con - the BBC certainly aren't confirming or denying either way, which maybe says enough.
Was still well-done though!

In the closing credits it still had 'The Stig' and the guest was Michael Schumacher. I think they have different Stigs, depending on the car. Given how rubbish he was in the reasonably priced car (although that could've been an act), I don't think it's him and Rich pretty much sums it up.
Did enjoy it though! And Clarkson was priceless. ;d

apparently he was "the stig" for the driving of the ferrari, but i'm willing to bet that since he works for ferrari it was probably a stipulation that only he was allowed to drive it, and top gear cunning made a stig storyline out of it....
