Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws is interested in signing Everton striker Victor Anichebe, BBC Radio Sheffield understands.
The 21-year-old Nigeria international is believed to be one of a number of targets on Laws's wanted list.
Anichebe's season was ended prematurely when he suffered a knee injury in February which required surgery.
The Owls are also planning more talks with the West Ham forward Freddie Sears when the player returns from holiday.
Laws claimed to be interested in signing the 19-year-old striker earlier this week.
Oh good someone else who has been injured for a long time. Nice to see that we're looking at players in the Prem though.
