Gazza only means of making a living maybe....? He is an ill man and it will be a disaster. He shouldn't have to resort to this shit.

true, but, what else is he going to do? Well I doubt theres too much he is mentally capable of doing to be fair, Mort. If he keeps getting offered TV appearances for thousands of pounds a go he is going to take it... Makes me Gazza - Greatest talent this country has ever produced.

Because as far the producers r concerned the fact that he's Paul Gascoigne a well known ex-footballer who has mental health issues it means it'll get them ratings and thats all that matters to these people. I guess as well that maybe Gazza is desperate for money and/or some semblance of a new career.

This is a disgrace, and ITV shouldnt be allowed to do it! he was sectioned only a year ago, and admitted trying to kill himself - he needs help, not being put under 24 hour scrutiny while sick members of the public laugh as he has a nervous breakdown. Ian Wright was doing his nut about this on TalkSport earlier, and i agreed with everything he said.

I don't mind TV companies going so far for ratings, but there is a line you shouldn't cross - and putting some so obviously mentally unhealthy in that kind of situation is well over the line.
Obviously, if he's agreed to it, he thinks he can handle it (maybe he's been given assurances about being able to leave if it gets too much? Fat chance...), but surely there's a higher body that can step in for his sake?

What he needs is a role within football probably at Newcastle coaching the youth. Surely Newcastle could do that now Shearer is in charge. The man needs a purpose. He looked shockingly gaunt and haggard on MOTD2.

He looked shockingly gaunt and haggard on MOTD2. U wud have thought that some form of coaching or management in football wud help him, but he did manage a non league side a few years back but lasted 5 weeks, altho role at Newcastle may help i do fear that cud go really bad given the apparent attitudes of the current squad, they'd rip Gazza apart This is from Wikipedia: Managerial and coaching career Having already gained some coaching experience in China, he signed for Boston United on 30 July 2004. After being at the club for 11 games he left (partly as a result of the club refusing to let him participate in the reality television show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here![17]) on 5 October 2004, to begin a football coaching course. He made a total of five appearances for the club but scored no goals. In the summer of 2005 he spent two months as player-coach at the recently founded Portuguese team Algarve United, but a proposed contract never materialised[18] and he returned to England. He then became manager of Kettering Town on 27 October 2005. His tenure at Kettering lasted just 39 days, and he was dismissed by the club's board on 5 December 2005, along with assistant manager Paul Davis. The club's owner blamed Gascoigne's alcohol problems, stating that he drank almost every day he worked.

nobody will give him a proper job in football until he can prove he's of the wagon and all there.....
... otherwise he's just a bad influence.

Exactly he could have said no. Surely if he's at risk then doctors will advise him against going.
This can all be coached very well by ITV, so that he is not too vulnerable. In fact this could actually turn out good for Gazza.
No doubt he'll win the programme (the public love him), he'll make shed loads of money and it'll give him a sense of achievement. It'll keep him away from alcohol for a month and could very well set him up nicely for future TV roles.
So before you all moan about it stop and think for a second. ITV...........a major TV channel will not risk being seen as the ones being responsible for sending a popular public figure like Gazza over the edge. There will be numerous safe guards in place to manage the situation.

If u really believe that cav then ur naive. If Gazza ends up over the edge ITV first excuse will be that he agreed to go on the show and their second will be that they are not responsible for the state of his mental health (although they r happy to exploit it).
