Sorry to hear this Saints, looks like you were down anyway with that draw. No fighting on the pitch at our gaff next week though! relegation was expected, just annoyed we'll start next season on -10. fighting was mainly provoked... a number of fans wearing p*mpey shirts in the burnley end, lots of burnley fans looking for trouble before, during and after the game. if it was another team we'd have just run on the pitch, but as Burnley had been c*nts, we ran on the pitch and right over to the burnley fans, got hit with a bottle and a coin. i'm sure most of our stupid happy clappy shirters will be in fancy dress next week anyway.

I have no sympathy for the club at all. The holding company (Southampton Leisure Holdings) is, to all intents and purposes, Southampton Football Club. The only income SLH gets is from SFC so for them (SFC) to say that SLH is nothing to do with them is trying to wriggle out of it big time. The Football League did well and sends a very clear message that holding companies set up with the express aim of funding football clubs, or vice-versa, is a definite no-no.
If scumpton had been successful in not suffering any sort of punishment you would see a whole host of holding companies being set up.
They broke the rules and even lied to the FL. They deserve everything they get and more.
If they go ahead with their appeal and are, as seems likely, unsuccessful, the FL are considering throwing them out of the FL altogether.
They should accept their punishment and stop their squinnying.

Worse case scenario then. Start next season on -10 points.
