Mixed feelings about the start to the new series. It seems to be much more adult in tone, and the obviously corrupt senior policeman was a storyline from series 2 of Life On Mars.
The almost 'Hostel' like capture and interrogation of Alex Drake did not sit too easily with me either.
It's still an enjoyable romp on the whole but I wouldn't want to tire of the characters so I hope it picks up a bit.
At the end of the day it's simply no 'Life On Mars'.

Good grief. The girls at work watch all those programs then talk about them the next day

It's because it's morbidly fascinating. I sit there just going "why didn't you go to the doctors before it looked like that!!!"

I miss Sam, even though it's a completely different thing.

I have just watched the end of the American Life On Mars on Youtube and I want to break something. No offence to OG but why do the Yanks have to mess everything up? This is pure, pure shit

Have you seen the US remake of Red Dwarf? It's incredible - it's like they take the script, and reword the funny lines so that they're not funny any more. It's just horrible! UK: US: They also disregarded the early storyline too - like Kryten became a crew member in season 1, despite not being a regular 'til season 3 over here. Just leave the good things alone, please!

Was just about to give up on this then during the 3rd series it fell into place. Looking forward to the rest of this slow burning series

Enjoyed last night's episode. And the little mention of Sam Tyler!

Yeah I get the feeling there is more to come on that, though John Simm won't be back.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed that after initial doubts, set up nicely for the 3rd and last series next year too!

Well I thoroughly enjoyed that after initial doubts, set up nicely for the 3rd and last series next year too! Agreed. I thought the penultimate episode was superbly acted as well. A very intriguing ending! I managed to get both series of Life on Mars for £8.68 each on Amazon, so I watched them both after my exams were over!
