I've had this on DVD for about three years and finally plucked up the state of mind to watch it tonight.
Bloody hell. Great film but left me feeling hollowed out and very, very angry. I watched Match of the Day and drank too much, tucked up on a very comfy sofa, by way of calming down but it didn't do much of a job.
Anybody else seen it?

Good film Pastie, though if you did enjoy it (or whatever phrase might be appropriate) then I'd very much recommend that you seek out 'Shooting Dogs'. It's a film that deals with the same subject matter, but was released after 'Hotel Rwanda' and consequently received less attention. It's even more compelling and the final 20 minutes are incredibly difficult to watch.

the final 20 minutes are incredibly difficult to watch. Why, was someone standing in front of the screen?

I've had Hotel Rwanda recorded for about 1 year and haven't got around to watching it. I think I will soon.
Is it similiar to Hotel Babylon?

I've got it too on the recorder. Just need to be in the right mood to watch it.

OK, so this did take off. I'll look out for "Shooting Dogs" but I'll really have to be in the right state of mind. The violence in Hotel Rwanda is largely off screen - just plenty of reminders that it is there and brutal. I suppose this is especially true for those of us old enough to remember it all happening in 94 - I was in my final year at Uni and remember the footage of all the bodies running downstream and washing up on the shores of Lake Victoria. Awful. It is well worth watching as a reminder of how inadequate the world was at the time and Belgium really does not fare well in it. It is beyond sad, though - it made me so cross I found yet another reason to be unable to sleep
