Wolves boss Mick McCarthy admits that a hint of desperation has set into his team's promotion challenge.
After just one win in nine league games, Wolves' lead at the top of the Championship has shrunk to three points following Saturday's defeat at Burnley.
"We're all striving to get there - maybe desperate to get there - and that's a little bit of the problem," McCarthy told BBC WM.
"Maybe we have to get back to picking up points on a match-by-match basis."
McCarthy has taken his squad to Spain for some warm-weather training before returning for their final push at winning promotion to the Premier League.
"I think it will do them good to spend a bit of time with each other and to be able to train in a bit of warm weather," said McCarthy. "Not on a frozen pitch with bobble hats and gloves and four or five different layers on.
"They can have some down time and it will be good for them to enjoy each other's company and to come back rested and in a resurgent mood ready for the 13 games we've got left."
Wolves' next game is Sunday's home clash with former boss Dave Jones' in-form Cardiff City (22 February, 1300 GMT).

No shit sherlock. If we play Jones with Henry and a natural left back instead of Ward, keep Vokes upfront with SEB. We can win enough games to go up, its the same squad that went on a 9 match winning run.
Oh and if Hennessey learns to catch the ball and come off his line sometime, it might help.

I'd agree about Jones with Henry and Hennessey dealing with his aerial ability. However, bear in mind that Ward was part of the side that went on both 7-match winning runs and seems to have performed very well, going on reviews. It sounded like Vokes didn't have the best of times starting alongside SEB on Saturday and couple with his anonymous performance when starting alongside SEB in the Palace match leads me to question those two starting alongside each other. SEB and Keogh gel, Vokes and Keogh gel, Iwelumo alongside SEB worked......maybe Vokes is still best as an impact player.

Vokes didn't get any service on Saturday and if given a decent supply by the wingers he will no doubt do a good job. Vokes and SEB haven't really had that much time together. Ward looked very vulnerable on Saturday and while he might have done OK in that position earlier on the in the season. The fact remains that he is not a natural left back and was repeatedly exposed on Saturday. Surely it would make sense to give a natural left back the opportunity. I have faith in Mick and he has done a great job too date and I'm sure he will take us up no doubt. But the fact remains that his decisions at times are very baffling to say the least, Collins and Keogh have been two very weak links in the team for a while now and he it took him sometime to work that out.

Collins was also part of the side that went on those two winning runs. Can hardly blame MM for wanting to keep him in the side when we were on that sort of form.

We were outscoring teams yet letting in goals, now that we've stop scoring them in abundance we are struggling. I've watched Neil Collins play on a regular basis for nearly two years at home and he is clearly not good enough at this level, you can't afford the odd howler every game, it gets very costly come the end of the season.

True indeed. I think it's between yourselves and Reading for the top spot if i'm honest. Between now and the end of the season shall be very interesting.
