Wolves form no surprise - Carsley
Birmingham City captain Lee Carsley says the form of Championship leaders Wolves is no real revelation to him.
The midfielder will try to help Blues close the gap at the top when the two sides meet at Molineux on Saturday.
"It doesn't really surprise me because Mick McCarthy's a very good manager," Carsley told BBC WM.
"I've worked with him with the Ireland team and what he did with us was fantastic. The fact they're playing so well doesn't surprise me."
Wolves are six points clear at the top of the Championship table, while second-placed Birmingham are further six points in front of Reading who are third.
I don't think we're going to play outstanding football, but we're going to win the majority of our games
Blues skipper Lee Carsley
Even so, the Blues players have come in for some criticism for their style of play so far this term.
"I think it's going to be the story of the season to be honest, it's going to be a grind," Carsley admitted.
"I don't think we're going to play outstanding football or pass teams of the pitch, but we're going to win the majority of our games. 606: DEBATE It's such a change to find some good banter going on between us Bluenoses and the Molineux faithful. So much better than the puerile wind-ups we get from the villagers of Aston
BigMouthfromTeamTalk
"Personally I don't feel I have to be entertaining, but that's not my style of play. We have got players in the team that will get the fans off their seats and it's up to the likes of myself to get the ball to those players."
After relegation from the Premier League in May, Blues have been one of the teams other sides in the Championship having been gunning for, so Carsley is relishing a match against the league leaders.
"I think we are underdogs. Wolves are playing very well, scoring goals and top of the league," he said.
"We're not far behind, I think we're in a bit of form ourselves."

Good game that, and two good sides! They are the ones to catch, and i cant see anybody (with maybe the exception of Reading) getting anywhere near them.
2 good sides in a league of averageness!

Birmingham were much the better side for 60 minutes, Wolves showed great character and with some shrewd substitutions went for it in the last 30 minutes but even so could have been buried as birmingham hit us on the break but we pressed and got the equaliser and then we were unlucky not to win it in the end.
Exciting game and also a fair result in my opinion.

SHIT ON THE BRUMMIES
Birmingham City were very impressive in the first half, they really looked up for and showed that they still have a few prem class players. The blues goal sparked us into life and we had a spell of about 5 mins when we pushed them right back. Stearman played very well as did most of the back line. Kightly and SEB linked up well second half (after he changed wings). As BW said, we could have sneaked it in the end. Decent result.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's equaliser earned league leaders Wolves a point against second-placed rivals Birmingham City.
The visitors had the best of the first half, with only Richard Stearman's superbly-timed clearance preventing Marcus Bent putting Birmingham ahead.
Stearman let in Cameron Jerome to score minutes after coming on at half-time.
Ebanks-Blake scored from Stephen Ward's cross before Blues defender Liam Ridgewell had a potential winner ruled out for handball in a frantic finish.
Ebanks-Blake's 12th goal of the season keeps Wolves six points clear of Blues at the top of the Championship table.

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy:
"First half it was fairly even with lots of chances, but maybe they just shaded it.
"Second half, it was a poor goal for us to concede and they had the better of it I thought for 10 minutes or so.
"Once we recovered we started playing and I think we ended up the stronger side and the most likely winner."
Birmingham manager Alex McLeish:
"I'm disappointed we didn't get three points. The way we played in the first half, especially.
"We get in front and could have been more in front by that time, and that left Wolves a lifeline."
"It's great to come here and not lose, that's the best we've played away all season, especially in the first half."

Excellent match. Thought Birmingham were the better side in the first half, although we came closest to scoring with that deflection onto the post. Second half, we looked the better side although Blues responded well after SEB equalised.
Ward and Stearman were excellent and Kightly looked rejuvinated in the second half. That flick round the corner to send Ward away to set the equaliser up was excellent, as was Ward's check when feeding SEB to score.
Ward looks like he's been playing at left back all his life and could cause Elokobi similar problems to getting in the side as Hill and Friend have been getting. His forward runs were brilliant and McFadden got very little change out of him when in Wolves terrritory.
Stearman was fantastic as well, summed up by the clearance after Bent had lobbed Hennessey and then that tackle on Jerome when he went clean through was top class. Just a shame the one error he made led to the Blues goal.
One final point: credit where credit's due, it was pretty clear why Blues have the best defensive record in the league. SEB and Iwelumo got very little out of Ridgewell and Jaidi, whilst Taylor was a commanding presence in goal. Looked composed every time the ball was in the box and made that save from Vokes, clinging on to the ball as well, just like Hennessey from Phillips late on in the first half.
Overall, a draw was a fair result.
