the fa say they may still action.... The FA said that there would be no further charges. Then Barnsley/Davey chucked their toys out, and said they were going to send a 'highlight reel' of Morgan from Saturday to show he's a wrong un and doubts about it. Of course if the FA were to look at it and find against Morgan, it may just help 'Wavey Davey' in his own case as he's been charged by the FA for his comments about the ref on Saturday!! FA chiefs may still punish MorganFA chiefs have not yet ruled out taking further action against Sheffield United's Chris Morgan for his challenge on Barnsley striker Iain Hume. Hume was forced out of last weekend's derby action at Oakwell with a fractured skull after being caught in the side of the head by Morgan's elbow. Barnsley manager Simon Davey later claimed Hume's injuries had been life threatening. Morgan was shown only a yellow card by referee Andy D'Urso for the offence and the FA initially confirmed they would not be punishing the former Barnsley defender further. But Barnsley have since submitted further evidence, forcing the FA to reopen the case. An FA spokesman said: "There has been another development on this. "Barnsley have told us they are sending additional evidence, video footage of the incident, which we expect to receive on Thursday. "We will, of course, look at that before making any final decision." Hume, who also suffered internal bleeding, underwent emergency surgery in a Manchester hospital on Sunday night after his condition deteriorated. The Canada international, released from the hospital's high dependency unit on Tuesday, will be sidelined for at least six months and there has been intense media speculation this week the game's authorities would punish Morgan retrospectively. A furious Davey has also accused referee D'Urso of failing to protect his player. He said Hume had complained to the referee about being elbowed on numerous occasions before the 35th-minute incident, which floored the 25-year-old. The FA initially confirmed Morgan's challenge, although a red-card offence, could "not be described as exceptional". Officials at Soho Square said they had "canvassed expert opinion in the game" and had concluded they would not intervene. But Barnsley want Morgan punished and have submitted further video footage in a bid to convince the game's ruling body to take action. In 2006, Manchester City defender Ben Thatcher received an eight-game ban after being booked for his sickening challenge on Portsmouth midfielder Pedro Mendes. Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher has since conceded he did not see the full extent of Thatcher's horror tackle and it has been suggested D'Urso was similarly unsighted on Saturday. ------------------------------ ah i see what you mean.

The actual movement of Morgans elbow was minimal. Most of the momentum in the collision was provided by Hume himself who was trying to jump into Morgan, as most strikers do when they are jumping for a ball they're not favourite to win. Morgan had his arms raised to get leverage on the header, and never took his eyes off the ball. I don't think he meant anything other than to pump another aimless long clearance header forwards, which is how Morgan plays. Well I'm going to have to disagree. People's skulls don't get fractured by running into elbows. I don't know which Morgan elbow you've seen but its pretty clear every time I've seen it that he swung his elbow pretty dang hard - and he's a strong lad to top it off. And it wasn't for leverage, it was a good half a second before he jumped for the header.

Like I said Hume provided most of the momentum in the collision, by jumping into Morgan. Most strikers challenge for balls in the air they're not going to win in the air, by jumping into defenders. I'm not criticising anyone, there are quite a few player (Heskey, Davies, Hateley etc) who've made a good career out of it. I think it's safe to say we view the incident very differently (as most Barnsley and Blades fans do), and leave it at that.

Stand and fight like a man................ Is that what the Barnsley fan said to Seth Bennett on Radio Sheffields Football Heaven phone in ........ rumour is the police will be looking to speak to him!! I don't see any point in discussing it, as no one is going to change their opinion of what happened unless fresh information about it comes out.

I work with Blade fans and Owl fans its all a bit of piss-take. In terms of moving forward the Blades over recent seasons are the ones doing the best.
