SAINTS vs WOLVES
Saturday 15 Nov 2008
Anyone on here going Wolves fans or Saints??
Join Bournemouthwolf, Ancientwolf and Wolfman and a few other Wolves fans from Bournemouth for pre-match drinks @
The Standing Order 30 The High Street Southampton, SO14 2DF
To St Mary's football ground from the pub is about the same as from Wolvo railway station to Molineux
If your coming by car it's easy with sat nav otherwise the best advice I can give is head for West Quay or Bar Gate, park up then ask directions for the High Street, there is loads of parking.
From the train station ask directions for Above Bar Gate then walk to the bottom until you come to a medievil castle like building then when you walk through it you come to the High Street. Two minutes walk later on the left is the pub.
I'm sure some of the Saint fans on here will help out with directions or if they have a better pub for us to all meet up then great.
Once you get inside the pub which is very large, walk almost to the back until you see a bookcase or library style section on the right and that is where we will be( for you smokers it is near a verhanda section designated just for you).
So post here if your coming!!
We will be there from 1 o'clock

I can help out with any directions if needed. Never been to Standing Order before A saints game before, is it welcome for away fans then? If so, it is indeed a good choice as it is usually good value. Hopefully we can keep up our recent good form against you lot...

I went in there yesterday after getting my tickets and a bar man said that although there are some Saints fans in there most of them usually disappear when there is a lot of away fans but the most important thing is that he said they rarely had any trouble in there.
We've got tickets for the home fans section in the Itchen Centre block 9 near the halfway line - pretty safe area??

Fair enough. Yeah you'll be fine there... you could probably wear a Wolves shirt and no-one would kick up a fuss (although I wouldn't risk it ) ... I suspect the only stir caused in that block will be people shouting abuse in the direction of Rupert Lowe when we are losing

Will be going to the match with a couple of mates (1 a saints fan sitting in with us ;D) will probably be driving so not sure where we will go before match. Was planning on using park and ride scheme, which takes us to the ground so may do that and walk to the pub.

Ah if only this was two years ago, when I lived there.
Helsinki is maybe a bit far to travel now!
The only concern I'd have is that I thought Wetherspoons had stopped letting in football shirts (of any description)

Loads of Wolves fans and Saints fans in the pub with football shirts, don't know if any of you lot were in there. Everything was pretty cool in there except for some young Wolves fans chanting abuse at some other fans - at that point we left to make our way to the ground.
