Sheffield United: We don't do none controversial south yorkshire derbies.... but if we did they'd probably be the best south yorkshire derbies in the world with donny.

Personal i think you've got to look at the Hume/Morgan incident this way. Both players are very competitive. Hume has always gone for balls he can't win (as in the incident) throughout his career, and this is hardly sporting conduct or within the rules. Morgan is an aggressive player and doubt had no qualms about getting involved in a physical tussle with Hume. As it happens you can't comprehensive say Morgs deliberately elbowed Hume, as there was no swing normally associated with such deliberate actions. However i think you can say that BOTH players knew there was going to be a coming together in the challenge and i suggest furthermore Hume knew he was never going to win the ball fairly, he appears to be trying to block Morgan off from going for the header. What? Are we watching the same video here? Morgan clearly swings his elbow at Hume before the ball is anywhere near them. And what wrong with going for balls you probably won't win. Would you sign a striker for £1.2 million and expect him to only compete in challenges he's likely to win? So what, let Morgan win every header? So if its unsporting to go "for balls he can't win" then while we're at it our midfields pretty small so should they stave off any aerial balls. And any through ball closer to your defender, leave that for them. Your keeper's taking his time with a kick but leave him because its "hardly sporting conduct or within the rules"? I'm sorry Mort but I don't agree at all with this statement. Yes they're competitive and I remember from when Morgan played for us we loved his agression but on Saturday that really crossed the line. There was a clear swing associated with delibeate action because he swung before he went up for the header. apparently because Morgan was given a yellow for the incident no further action can be taken..... which seems stupid rule to me I agree here, that rule is rediculous and clearly shows the F.A. once again trying to reduce the amount of work they have to do and relieving pressure on them. They shouldn't even contemplate not undermining referees, complete kop out.

we'll have to agree to disagree.
my point about going for balls he was never going to win was not to suggest this was wrong, but to illustrate that no doubt morgan and hume were having a very competitive personal battle.

Yeah they probably were, what I'm disputing is the statement "this is hardly sporting conduct or within the rules". I'm pretty sure giving your all for the team isn't against the rules.
