Must have been done last year but let's do it again My top 'horror / ghost' films. Evil Dead 2 (I also love number 3 for it's sheer awfulness) Ghostbusters Beetlejuice Dog Soldiers Halloween The Exorcist

Dog Soldiers is a great film!
"Spoon, stop staring at it!" "I can't help it!"

Dog Soldiers is a great film! "Spoon, stop staring at it!" "I can't help it!" I only discovered it relatively recently but it is fantastic. How it got through as a '15' certificate eludes me though!

Some popular ones I'm not keen on. Scream Trilogy and Nightmare on Elm Street.

the 1st scream film is good, not seen any of the nightmare films all the way through except freddy vs jason
Braindead is a good halloween horror film just for the zombie baby and the infamous lawnmower scene

Evil Dead 2 (I also love number 3 for it's sheer awfulness) Ghostbusters Beetlejuice Dog Soldiers Halloween The Exorcist Can't knock most of those Tom, especially the last two. I'd probably have those two in my all-time top 3 along with 'The Shining'. I would also have to add..... Switchblade Romance Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Omen Trilogy (let's not mention the straight to TV fourth episode or the re-make) Psycho REC The Orphanage Ringu Alien Suspiria Night Of The Living Dead An American Werewolf In London And also the odd Hammer film, just for starters.

Is Ringu about a murderous Penguin? Oh dear that caught me on the hop, I just made a strangulated laughing sound at work.

Generally speaking horror films do not scare me.
But I have been terrified by the following: Alien The Exorcism Of Emily Rose (lights on after this one) Dead Of Night (saw this as a child and even as an adult it is quite chilling still ,several scenarios predating Tales From The Crypt and The Twilight Zone by some fifty years) Rosemarys Baby Salems Lot Event Horizon

I have no opinion. Just to add something to this thread; I don't really watch scary films cause they're... well...like... scary. But Friday the 13th scared me

The Shining always unerves me, as did Christine when I watched it. Bits of Carrie and Desperation bring a chill to my bones as well.
Alien has me on edge, but other than the first couple of times, I've not really been affected by Event Horizon, although still get caught out by the blood towards the end. An American Werewolf In London and Dog Solidiers are amazing films and the final words of Spoon crack me up every time as he's about to be eaten. "I hope I give you the shits" ;D
