Reading are "likely" to sign non-league midfield starlet Michael Antonio, according to Tooting & Mitcham boss Bill Smith.
The 18-year-old is considered an exciting prospect and has caught the eye of Steve Coppell and his scouts.
He linked up with Reading for a trial last week and featured as a substitute in the reserve team's victory over Brighton.
Antonio has scored four goals in six games for Tooting and has also been linked with a move to Wolves.
However, Smith has revealed Reading are leading the chase for his signature and believes a deal could soon be agreed.
"It is certainly looking likely that he will go to Reading," Smith told the Bracknell Forest Standard. "The only hold-up at the moment is that we are hoping to get him back on loan for the rest of the season.
"If we didn't want that it would probably already be a done deal."
