anyone watched this? Its a 3 parter on BBC1 Tuesdays 9pm, and we've just had the 2nd part and it is simply brilliant! Written by Craig Cash (Royle Family & Early Doors) it stars Steve Coogan (plus everbody from Early doors) - coogan plays a down on his luck gambling addict. Its hilariously funny, but very touching and sad and i cant wait for the final part next week. Coogan is awesome in it. If you have missed it, then you must keep your eyes out for it being repeated.

Ooh yeah did! It was great! There were a few bits that made me laugh out loud. I liked the bit where he was calling for his son and he was doing those silly impressions in the video screen. There was another really funny bit too..but I can't remember it...

I saw it last week but am out tonight so will miss it.
Bernard Hill is a massively underated actor imo.

Fantastic mini-series. Shame its over. Quite poignant the relationship between grandad ,son & grandson. Something which is getting rarer & rarer. And yes its a tearjerker alright.Bernard Hill is superb as ever.

Best thing on TV in a long time! Brilliantly written, painfully funny but very touching as well.
Tonights was very sad, but it was brilliantly acted. I think coogan was fantastic, but Bernard Hill stole the show!
A real shame it's over, but for those who havent seen it, its a fantastic ending.

Sentimental, cloying, perhaps a bit unrealistic.
Cried my eyes out...

Hm. Ok, I watched the first one recorded last night and didn't buy into it at all -thought it a bit unoriginal and pedestrian. Really like Coogan and especially Bernard Hill but didn't care about anybody in it. However, having debated not bothering with the other two episodes, now that I have read this thread I promise that I shall give it another go!
