Hardline Christians will denounce it. I wonder - not necessarily going to be condemned from the states is it? I thought Creationism was rife there, or is it just among your politicians I brought this one home to show people. It is some piece of work

Hardline Muslims want to kill Christians, hardline Christians want to denounce the theory of evolution.

Sweet send it over to me when you're finished reading. No this is really interesting, I've gone to the web site advertising the Atlas of Creation and it has some information about the first 3 volumes and a crux of the argument is that there has never been an intermediate fossil showing a transition through evolution of a species. Which is interesting to say the least, if that is true you have to ask some questions that maybe things aren't as black and white as they may seem. What do you think about it Pastie, have you gone into it with an open mind willing to hear from another view point, clearly a lot of information has been collected if they need to make several volumes? What's Volume 4 about?

What's Volume 4 about? It really is interesting. I'd like to think that I approach most things open minded and inquisitive (although I'll not claim to be the most ready to change my opinions) but my problem with this particular book is that it is not written with any sense of open mindedness in itself. Fascinating, yes. Impartial, no. It is filled with anti "Darwinist" propagandising - stating that Darwinists are responsible for the ills of the world such as the spread of fascism and the abandonment of world religions. It has page after page of "evidence" that the Darwinist theories are disproved with a subscript throughout just to ensure that something derogatory is written about the contrary opinions. It is interesting, but if it came on a pamphlet through your door it would get a brief look, a nod of mild incredulity and placed straight into the recycling. As for this being Volume 4, from what I can tell the chapter on Creationism is the same in this as it is in all the other publications and that there are supposedly just alterations to the body of evidence. However, the "Vol. 4" sticker fell off ours revealing a sticker saying "Vol. 3". We played around with that and finally revealed the original text saying "Vol. 2". All quite bizarre!

Hardline Christians will denounce it. hardline christians agree with it though! they believe in the creation myth! like that he might have to pay out on the fossil already, but proberly wont accept what was found ( in new scientist, almost full fossil history, will try find link from last year). isn't there arguements already about blair being responsible for a private school teaching creationism as science....

Aye well clearly any anti-Darwinist propagandising you would need to ignore and it's a shame the books have to stoop to those levels if they truely have something exciting to show. I'd love to read them all though, look past any derogatory Dawinist message and read the facts they claim to have found and the arguements they bring up.

A creation myth based on James Ussher working out that God created the Earth in the year 4004BC when the fossil record clearly shows life on Earth evolving from 3.5 billion years ago(the Earth being 4.5 billlion years old) and that the cusp of evolution are the fine beings you lot know as Chopper and Cav.

What do you think Pastie? ONly just caught this up, sorry. What do I think about what? Do I buy into the atlas? Absolutely not. The fossil evidence shown is, on the scheme of things, not that old. The language is patronising and the depth of message shallow, hidden only by the fantastic quality of the publication...

All religion is nonsense. Generally speaking Christianity is not as bad as Islam at present . The latter is worse when the theocrats take hold of it and try to turn society into mad religious demagogue worship .And it has a blooidr history desite its presentations of peace. Millions killed at the point of the sword or forced to convert from India and Java to North Africa and the Balkans. The arguments of creationists have been ripped apart time and time again. God was created by man not the other way round. Where are the gods of Greece or Sumeria ? Lucas here are some of the more recently found 'missing links'. www.evolutionpages.com/Writing.htm
