Your lot came very close last night too I see, Tom. Was that down to bad fortune or not? Missed the game, tuned into the second half of the CL qualifier, hoping that Liverpool's luck was going to run out.

Missed the game, tuned into the second half of the CL qualifier, hoping that Liverpool's luck was going to run out. We acquitted ourselves excellently against a Sunderland side that started with a 10 million pound international keeper and the likes of Cisse and Diouf. We had them on the back foot for a long time and Earnie scored a belting free kick. They battered us a bit in the second half to be fair but it really looked like it would be our night until their defender weighed in with a fortuitous goal. After that they ran us fairly ragged but we didn't totally cave in, so I'm happy with the application shown. Bloody Scousers

I saw a few minutes and noticed they had a pretty decent line-up out. I dare say you're not too broken hearted about a League Cup exit though? It's a long time since I've given a monkeys about the competition. Bastard Scouse knobends!

I'm not too bothered in the grand scheme of things but we seem to have developed a habit of taking the lead to opposition in the last 5 years or so before conceding a goal in the last five minutes and suffering a further capitulation (Portsmouth 2003, Fulham 2004, Leicester 2007). I also sat through a 1st round tie vs Macclesfield in 2005 which we lost 3-2, at least I didn't have to queue for a pint in the South Bank afterward!

You appear to be quite scarred by this sequence of results.....

Least you've got a tasty game against 'Bradders' in the JPT ;D
We lost to Woking in our first JPT year, we actually made the Northern Semi Final the year after! And lost at home to Bristol City in front of our lowest post war crowd! (under 3,000).

I don't know whether to feel proud that Leeds hold the competition record for the highest attendance outside the final, and that they're expecting to top that with a 25,000 turnout next week. ;D

Cheers Tom! Was close, but we've been doing very well in the cup competitions against Premier League sides for several years now and been crap in the league. So can't read too much into it. Nice goal from King though.
