Surman would never choose to leave us for another championship side, because he has supported the club all his life.
I'd expect him to move if a premiership club wanted him though.
You'll get him though, because we need the money and Lowe will accept any offer - whether the player wants to go or not, they'll be forced out.
Surman is slow, lightweight and has already said how he doesn't like playing at left back. He is a natural midfielder with a good engine and good passing - there's little point you signing him as a left back - we're only playing him there, because he is left footed and we have no-one else.

We could do with midfield recruits anyway. Is he worth £2.5m though!?

His value is likely to be around that mark, because he is now an England U-21 International and it's paying for potential too.
It would be a decent purchase, especially seeing as he has been a first team regular for two and a half seasons now.
