your lot were so close to this level. Our game against colchester a week saturday has been postponed because we've got too many international call-ups, can't be too common at league 1 level. Though I'm sure we'd have coped, I'm not sure its worth falling so far behind the pack...we never do well when we travel long distances midweek anyway.

Happened to us once or twice believe it for not but I think it was only because of wasters like Eugene Dadi and the fixture backlog knackered us. I still think you guys will be ok this season, you really need some stability though - honestly speaking if you had had some of that you would never have taken the plunge in the first place! My brother lives in Peterborough, if I am visiting him at the time I may try and take in your 'local derby'.

Yeah I know what you mean, its always better to have points on the board than games in hand. It seems almost like we're playing twice a week at the minute. 46 league games carling cup 1st round onwards Fa cup first round onwards JPT first round onwards I don't want to really think it, but it might be a blessing in disguise to get knocked out tomorrow night, and maybe in the JPT next week with a reserve side. I think our squad largely has the quality needed at this level butit may be a bit thin in some areas. No offence but I hope our first season down here is more fruitful than yours. Northampton will always be my local derby this season. But Peterborough is the game I'm most looking forward to, a big away terrace so should be fun.

Speaking from first hand experience (I had a season ticket) our first seaon down was actually very enjoyable mate! A great opener vs Huddersfield was admittedly soon replaced by some galling losses to Scunny and Brentford but once our home form levelled out I witnessed a lot of good wins. Southend were the early pacesetters and Eastwood had come out and said he would never join us. I was at the front of the Trent End on a wet November afternoon when we put them to the sword, he couldn't cope! Great atmos that day. We had some romps against Donny (4-0) and Port Vale too but Megson ran out of ideas come January and I witnessed my lowest time as a Forest fan. At least one televised reverse to Barnsley was on a wet January Friday night so I just fitted it into my night at Rock City (had to get changed at home after the match though, I was soaked!). Megson got sacked in February when we were 4th bottom to be replaced by Charlie and Frank and we went on a storming run, thrashing damn near everyone (including Swindon 7-1) to only miss out on the playoffs by one goal! Believe it or not, it was great! ;D The following season was more crap IMO having been runaway leaders at Christmas, bottling it then allowing Yeovil to bugger us in the playoff semi.

Well I'm loving it at the minute mate, makes such a nice change. Though as you say, its a long season and you were runaway leaders at Christmas. But at the minute, even playing badly we get results. We'll be tried and tested along the way but its great so far! Cheltenham 0 Leicester 4 I was at the Tigers match this afternoon (who won 48-7 but was keeping a close ear on City and wow so happy! Top of the league, all sorts of different players scoring. Things are looking great for us. Pearson is such a different manager than Holloway...quiet, understated and gets on with the job but he's certainly getting the best from this bunch of players and deserves a lot of credit at this early stage. The team are under a lot of pressure to do well in this league and go straight up. Sure its league 1, but even basic things like player selection, fitness and motivation were so awry under Holloway and some of his predecessors. Tonight, I am happy.

I'm liking mellowing in today's footballing results, so heres some comments from some Cheltenham fans on the robins nest: Malabus: Leicester looked likely to score every time they attacked - the finishing was absolutely incredible (the free-kick was something special too) I was very impressed with their attacking strike force today and that will see any team promoted from L1. After the battle we can reflect that we were punished by an excellent team, no bitterness or anger, I just feel the urge to stand up (now in my house) and applaud today's visitors. chel_10ham_peegs: Coral 5/2 to win League One. On that showing EASY MONEY!!!! They have DJ Campbell as 4th choice striker for christ sake! THE BADGE: In our 10 years in the football league today was the first time i,ve seen us so totaly and utterley outclassed from the very first minute at Whaddon Road in a league match. At no stage did i ever think we had any chance of getting anything from the game and that made it very difficult to watch.Credit to Leicester they are gonna prove a class apart from most this season but thats little consolation to the faithful turned up to watch us today _ _ _ _ did I mention we were top of the league! ;D ok, no more gloating.
