HGO do you remember the special place? ;D
Why isn't anything happening at Hillsborough? It's really beginning to F me off. If Geoff 'The Horse' Horsfield come to Hillsborough I will be checking Brian Laws birth certificate to check he isn't related to Bryan Robson.

Indeed i do remember our special place our Laura. Where we used to discuss all things Owlie. Tis a bit quiet at the mo but worry not, dont forget when we first came up we signed someone straight away cos others would be after him yada yada. We rushed in and signed Wade Small!
Cant say i know much about the fella apart from being ginger and Irish. On that basis he`ll be sent off regulaly id imagine. Hes played plenty though so at least hes not injury prone or cant run anymore (Wallwork). Well hes not injury prone yet anyway. I`ll be happy if we bring in Jimmy Smith but we also need wingers to. If we can get a new midfield i`ll be quite happy

If we can get a new midfield i`ll be quite happy I'm very concerned tbh It's painful watching top-half sides like Wolves and Charlton pulling off signings we could only dream of yet it now seems the likes of Coventry, Forest and Barnsley are also getting themselves in on the act. All three have spent £1m+ on a prolific goalscorer. Cov=Eastwood, Forest=Earnshaw and Barnsley=Hume. Now I know we can't compete when it comes to transfer fee's and wages but f****** hell this pre-season is getting more frustrating by the day. When every other sodding club gets linked with a takeover it happens overnight, when we're linked to a takeover it drags on for months no end. I'm sure the two lads we've signed will turn out to be solid signings, but it's far from good enough when the likes of Barnsley and Coventry are making £1m+ signings - two sides i'd of expected us to finish above. To finish on a positive, we've so far managed to hang onto our young players like Spurr, Beevers and Simek etc. This can only be a good thing with the new season just round the corner. A huge positive in what has otherwise been a shite pre-season to date

I cant say as i entirely agree with you matey. Hume and Eastwood are no better quality than we have already. A fit front line for us is a decent one. Trouble is we have so many parties involved it would always take time for any takeover to go through. Weve got an ex-chairman, weve got Hulley and Addy both of which are incompetent, then we have arsewipes that are Wednesdayite who will always find a way of holding things up plus the additional shares owned by fans. Thats 5 different and entirely seperate parties. Id agree that we seem to have managed to hold on to our gems so far and thats a massive bonus. Im sure their will be more signings to come but 1 million for Hume , jesus christ. Barnsley to be relegated! Indeed i do remember our special place our Laura. Im sure their will be more signings to come but 1 million for Hume , jesus christ. Barnsley to be relegated! IMO, Hume is well worth his transfer fee, especially in today's market. I'd have been jumping for joy had it been us he signed for. He was Leicester's top scorer last season with 13 goals, not bad for someone who played in a side that were relegated. None of our strikers even got close to that tally. Eastwood is a class-act and on his day tears defenders a new asshole. He wasn't given a fair crack at Wolves due to them having 800 other strikers. If he's given a run of games at Coventry he'll be at the top of the scoring charts. I agree we have a decent strikeforce but it's far too inconsistant to take us onto the next level. Jeffers is a waste of tax payers money and would be better of applying for a job on Holby City, whilst Sodje also seems to like the medical bed. As for Burton & Tudgay, both have proven that they are capable of scoring goals at this level but it seems to happen in patches. Tudgay will score 5 in 4 games and then forget how to score for the next 3 months. Burton offers pretty much the same, which isn't good enough. I read today that Coventry are also set to sign Clinton Morrison on a free transfer. So they'll be starting the season with an Eastwood-Morrison frontline... We're going down...

I'm not convinced we are Sammy. I think we need to bolster the squad immediately because Simek ain't coming back any time soon and as much as I love Tommy Spurr he isn't a fullback. But what he does lack in speed he makes up for in commitment. We need a passing midfielder which hopefully we've now got but I'll reserve judgement. If we can get Sodje back fit and raring to go we've got a good basis but we're not going to win anything until the backroom shennanigans are sorted.

I agree H i dont think we will go down. He played Liam Mcmenamin at right back against the Dutch side in preference to Hinds. I know hes a lad they rate highly.
Id agree we do need cover at right back so we arnt in the position where JJ has to play their and we saw how bad that was. I wouldnt agree with Tommy though, he obviously lacks pace if he comes across a pacey winger he can struggle id prefer him there to centre back. He improved 10 fold last yr and i think he`ll only get better.
I think this yr will be much the same as last where every team has as much chance of being promoted as they do being relegated

I think this yr will be much the same as last where every team has as much chance of being promoted as they do being relegated JJ should never have been asked to be put in that position when we had Steve Wtason playing in bloody midfield. I'm a little disappointed that Watson has been made club captain because I don't feel he leads the team at all when he's on the pitch and a captain should lead by example. I know Woody is going to be team captain but I'm not sure the ambiguity of that set up is going to work for us. We need a clear leader on the pitch. Tommy did improve so much last year but his position is centre back but with Wood and Beevers there the best he can hope for it fullback. I think you're kidding yourself that Tommy could be a winger because bless him he can't cross a ball! I think we'll be frustratingly below average as we have been for 10 years now. Sheard has denied the Shearer/Daglish combination for manager. Not sure Brian is going to last when/if we get money. I like the bloke but I'm not convinced he is the best manager for the job.
