Saints are set to capture Paul Wotton, subject to agreeing terms and a medical.
I've always thought he was a pretty steady player, takes a mean penalty too.
If he keeps fit, should turn out to be a good free signing and probably on less wages than Safri, so hopefully we'll ship him out.

Brilliant move for him if it goes through. He will no doubt come back to haunt us with a trademark blast into the back of a Home Park net...

I'm really pleased for Wotton as I thought he would at best be headed to League Two or more likely Torquay United. This is an amazing move for him. Working on the assumption that we had players lined up, I thought it was the right thing to let him go, however sad that may have been for all of us. He never really made the step up in levels to the CCC and his lack of composure and tendency to give the ball away would too often cost us dear. However, this is a huge chance for him and a fresh start so maybe it will give him a new lease of life. He has loads to offer any team - he'll get a good reception back at Argyle even if he does bury one from 300 yards at 2000 miles an hour - it would almost be nice to see him do it again. Luckily I shall be in Amsterdam and will miss it, just in case
