Made it into the Champions League this weekend at the expense of Ajax Huge shock in Holland considering Twente is a very small club. I know we've been looking at Twente closely as they're all about youth development. Goes to show that it can be done. Hopefully Aidy will learn from them and this will help our imminent rise Steve McLaren has been linked with them also as their boss is off to manage Schalke - LOL!

Exactly the model I was postulating a decade ago GB. Christ they should employ me on the board. And I'd do it for free. No bonuses etc.

You and me both mate! Shit, I hold a 1% stake in the club, maybe I should consider some form of takeover ;D

Bet you cant wait for that payout GB ! Bet reading the fiscal reports makes for welcome bedtime reading. ;D Just wish the numpties on the board like the Belize billionaire could put in a bit. Seems all the takeover deals are off as well. In a way I'm pleased but if it comes to it I'd rather we were in a stable financial state than not.

Oh I'm counting down the days mate. ;D
Well you joke, but tbh, the club isn't in that bad a state as most like to make out. Yes our spending overall has increased but that was always on the cards once we got promoted. We're now in such a position where it's about going up, paying our debts off, staying afloat, coming back down most likely until we're in a position where we can be more extravagant in our spending.
The first season I remember visiting the Vic to watch Watford was the 94/95 season, can't remember much but we finished 7th that season. Season after - we got relegated, finishing 2nd bottom, only the scum below us by 3 points. We've been up & down as a club during the last 10 years plus. Assessing where we are now in comparison, the club as a whole, we've come on leaps & bounds. Last 3 seasons, we've - finished in a decent spot in the CCC, been in the Premiership and again finishing in a decent spot in the CCC. Not all bad really.
Give me Watford FC in the state it is now compared to when I first started watching us anyday!
