Somewhat shocked to read this morning that Micky Adams has returned to the Withdean as manager! Bit of a surprise, thought Dean Wilkins did a good job last season, but he's been moved to first team coach.
From the beeb...
Brighton have re-appointed Micky Adams as manager with Dean Wilkins offered the role of first-team coach.
Adams led Albion to the old Third Division title during his first spell in charge from 1999 to 2001.
He takes over with the Seagulls just outside the play-off positions in seventh in League One this season.
"The board feel we need a manager with the wealth of experience to help us make the leap into the Championship," said chairman Dick Knight.
"Dean's strengths lie in coaching and the development of players and that is why we have offered him the role of senior coach under Micky."
Adams has also worked at Fulham and Leicester and was most recently assistant boss at Colchester.
Adams said: "Having worked at the club previously, which was a fantastic and rewarding experience, to get the chance to manage a super football club like Brighton & Hove Albion again was an opportunity I couldn't turn down.
"I look forward to working alongside Dean Wilkins, the players and the rest of the coaching staff - and working together with the Albion supporters - to try and get this club back into the Championship as we move towards our new home."

Well he's still a bit of a hero for stabilising the club and getting us out of the old division 3, so hopefully he should do well for us again.
Worst case scenario: We slip back into a relegation struggle and the legend is ruined. Best case scenario: We go straight up thanks to the dual return of Adams and Zamora. ;D

Yeah, I do feel sorry for Dean Wilkins. To get a club with limited resources and the Withdean stadium to the brink of the play-offs despite no managerial experience speaks volumes for the guy. That said, his strengths do lie in coaching. The list of players he released threw up a few surprises - letting Sam Rents go for example - a player who's made 30 league appearences for us - whilst keeping Scott Chamberlain, who once appeared in a paintpot match. If Wilkins can stay with the club (and I would fully understand if he left), it'll be a great management team, and hopefully a team that can challenge for promotion.
The other hope is that Micky Adams gets the best out of Jake Robinson again. He's a player that looked good under Mark McGhee, but was ignored by Wilkins.
