28. How did you treat your teachers?[/I]
One of two ways PASTIE. Both ways were ‘earnt’ and it was either with contempt or respect. Didn’t matter whether the teachers were soft or strict. If they taught me and I remember the subject matter and it enjoyable then they got respect. Didn’t matter if their methods of punishment were banned by the Geneva Convention either - at least you knew what to expect SHOULD you overstep the mark (eh up GFJ - how‘s about Herr Webbs). On the other hand there were some total numpties who should never have been allowed to stand in front of class never mind trying to educate me. These were usually Art, Music, R.E and English teachers and they got treated with utter contempt. Probably explains why I chose subjects like Sciences, Geography and languages rather than the arty / humanity type subjects. This question has certainly given me an idea for a future 606 Thread - namely “The Old Teachers Thread” - where you post up memories of favourite, hated, teachers etc. Might have some mileage in it
29. Are the reports of your past football related troubles exaggerated, is it something you regret or is it something you would do again?[/I]
No - It was something that was as much of the culture of the game then (mid-late 80’s) as prawn sandwiches and corporate hospitality are now. I ran with a small crew from the West Midland Supporters Branch and to be honest it was a lot of shouting - waving of fists - chucking missiles - then running like fuck when the old bill arrived. I believe that the beneath the banter that the aggression between rivals is still in existence but to be fair the authorities and football have got it under control now. Besides the penalties are so much greater now - talking jail time! Not for me - besides at the time I was teenager, with money (as I started work at 17) - and it was a “laugh” and the “in-thing”. Thinking back I don’t regret my actions - BUT it’s not something I’d do now. I cannot run as fast and the use of blades / weapons in my day was the rarity - as opposed to the norm as appears to be the case today. That said - if someone was to attack myself or people I was with I’d not turn my back and would defend my space.
30. Do you think that posting on message boards whilst under the influence should be punished/rewarded/compulsory?[/I]
;DHa-Ha Quality question with scope for much debate. Maybe something for open debate on the Prowlers thread. In my opinion ALL three.
Punished: what sort of example are we setting to the younger posters who are still up beyond midnight (sorry BAGD). That said maybe we are their idols and they treat us modern day heroes (that’s bollocks of course )
Rewarded: evident multi-tasking. To be able to converse and type whilst pissed - well board rooms across the world are calling out for such people as us who can perform in this way. Exclusions are hammered posters (Goalposts & BAGD) spring to mind where whilst it funny as hell it's usually “What they fuck were they trying to type?”
Compulsory: maybe twice a week! Would make for some entertaining sessions
31. There can be a latent homophobia among most parts of society and this board is no exception. Does your stand on the Ashley Cole issue mean that you are uncomfortable with this?[/i]
I do have an open mind but when it comes to an individual’s sexuality I’ve no problem - so long as it’s “Not Around Me”. Same can be said for many things in life - and one of my bugs is Political Correctness; totally off the scale and pointless! And it’s PC that’s destroying society and communities in 21st Britain! My Ashley Cole stance was both a bit of a laugh and more seriously to protect the boards from possible legal actions (not that it would happen - but who knows)!
32. Are reports of ScumfanDan's dental characteristics accurate?[/I]
Not being an dental expert but YES they are accurate. Like tombstones!!
And here’s some late additions (not 5 mins ago) - thanks to whoever. It was 22.02 and I was already to post up the 32 responses above. Oh well - fill me glass and crack on. Sorry if I repeat any answer. Cannot be bothered to check
33. How many people attended your notorious 16th birthday party on February 11th 1984? And who was the fat bitch that broke the window when we refused her entry?[/I]
Reckon it must have been 50 odd - maybe a few more! Cheers for the memory Si - when the cops came “How Old are you son” I replies 16 and half. “What’s been going on?” Clever C*nt me - “It’s my birthday officers”! The fat bitch was part of the group I refused entry too - name was Bev Sams (reputation for barfing). But in fact it was the very slim and sexy Debbie Booth that did the window. Missed out big time on a gobble there. Would have saved her £30 too ;D
34. If the "How Clean is your House" crew were to visit any of your former school friends' houses, in whose house would they find the most deadly bacteria?[/I]
Gotta be Titch’s - Steve Neales (a retired, decorated army Major now). Fuck the front door hanging off - locked with a wedged newspaper. The soggy carpets - wireless stereo (well the wires were hanging - no fooking stereo). The fucking dogs bed was the clean washing pile behind the settee - his little bro standing on the stained sofa pissing on the coffee table, weetabix trodden into the carpet. Fuck - that was just the lounge. Hate to think what upstairs was like. And his welcoming mum - curled up on sofa clutching a mug of tea watching breakfast time whilst all this went on!
35.Are you and GFJ one and the same person? [[/I]
No - certainly enough evidence on here (photographs) to dispel that rumour. Besides were totally different personality wise. Moodswing ranting roaster and chilled Goalposts! And DantheRed, Shinny, JJ and Ade can all testify to the fact too! Sorry Cav and Mrsh can’t as I dipped out of the Manchester trip!
36.If you and GFJ aren't the same person, explain what it's like having GFJ as a "brother"[/I]
Too long an answer required here. All I can say it’s entertaining - a never ending roller coaster ride into the unexpected. He’s me best mate as well as me bro - a top man!
37. What really happened to the Big End of mum's old Vauxhall Chevette when we left you at home while me, mum and dad went to France in 1986?[/I]
Already answered this previously. Suffice to say 1100cc Chevettes don’t take kindly to a drop from 4th to 3rd to boost my overtaking speed as I hit 70mph odd going through Brocton Crossroads.
38.Choose your 10 favourite posters on the board and liken them to a tv character of your choice. Explain your reasons why in each case.[/I]
Top question - wish this had been fielded earlier. To be honest this needs some thought and I can’t be arsed at this moment is time. So if I may I’ll give special treatment to this one on its own tomorrow evening. Sorry to the poster waiting for the reply!
39. Is there any bad feelings between you and you bro after his decision to move over to Forget Work?[/I]
Dunno - we ain’t fucking speaking! Joking!!! See my response earlier. Disappointed in his move but I can understand his motives and timing. All due respect to him and the FW crew (all from here anyway) - and wish him every success.
40.Which one Leeds fan pisses you off the most?[/I]
On the BBC there a twat called Kippax White - total non-brainer. Over here there’s one that is a bit annoying. Sounds a lot like a junior me and is always in rant mode! Leedsultras24 or something. Maybe once the season comes round and what he’s been saying starts to bear fruits then maybe I’ll come round to liking him!
41.Whats the most offensive/worst message you have seen and had to moderate?[/I]
Other than a couple of very funny BUT very racist Jokes - nothing! The FIT one after my outburst on LNF rankled me especially as I’d just been made up to a Mod here. Moreso as I treid to defend myself it just made the hole bigger.
42.Would you say your King of the captions and if so or not, why?[/I]
Maybe once - when I was a competitor. And I have the occasional moments of brilliance on RBNO - but surely that question is better answered by my fellow cautioners. Personally, I think Gresley is head and shoulders above the others. Sterland, PASTIE and Goalposts are close second. MrMillwall and the likes of kman, Danthered and A2V are certainly ones to watch in the future! Pretty useful too Jimbo!
43.If you could only describe Leicester in one word, what word would you use?[/I]
Bet this fooker ain’t in the OED “Shittydumpsvilleboilonthearseofhumanitythatsmells”J
If you had to ban one member from this site, who would it be and why?[/I]
Bastard question - how to answer without dropping myself in the soft and smelly! Obvious choice would be the person who asked this questionJ. But seriously it would MNBA - way he treated Shinns and threatened her I’d have banned the fuck permanently!
That’s all finished over 5 hours perched over me laptop in the baking heat of a Staffordshire evening with nothing but cider and sweat to keep me going. Hope it at least makes you smile and gives an insight into the poster that is Roaster. Cheers all!
