Blackburn and Wales midfielder tells BBC Sport Wales he wants to play for and manage Wrexham.
Blackburn and Wales midfielder Robbie Savage has revealed he wants to manage Wrexham once his playing days are over.
"Hopefully one day I'll play for Wrexham and maybe even be the manager," Savage told BBC Sport after playing in Tuesday's friendly at the Racecourse.
"I used to stand in the Kop watching them every home game. I love the club.
"I was delighted when they stayed up last season and I still look for their results every week. Hopefully they can get more money in and go higher."
Savage was speaking after playing his first game since breaking his leg in a Premiership match in January.
The 32-year-old midfielder played the first-half of Tuesday night's friendly with League Two side Wrexham, scoring a 34th-minute penalty in a 2-1 victory.
"It was probably the most nervous I've ever been before a match," said Wrexham-born Savage.
"I winced a few times in some of the tackles but the leg was fine. It was great to be back, it's been a long and hard six months.
"There have been a lot of downs and not many ups, but this match was my reward for a lot of hard work I've put in.
"It was a bad break - the surgeon told me it was one of the worst I could have had. It was shattered in several places and was a compound fracture.
"But it just shows that a lot of determination and hard to get back has paid off. I'm delighted."
Striker Jason Roberts scored the opener for Blackburn on 27 minutes when he weaved his way into the right-hand side of the penalty area before firing in a low drive.
Eight minutes later, Roberts was brought down by new Wrexham signing Richard Hope and Savage stepped up to convert the penalty.
The Dragons pulled a goal back in the 55th-minute when striker Kaid Mohamed rounded Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel after being set up by fellow triallist Chris Simms.
